OK,  I suppose Brunettes are more limited (outside of some of the more wild looks) to black.. Yet I can see how lighter haired people such as blondes, auburn, and red-headed folks would be able to use dark green.. I just don't recall those colors from the 70's regarding mascara..  Of course fewer people had green and blue hair too in those days !

Na, it comes in brown, auburn, violet, green, black, prolly other colors, too.

Don't forget about Navy!

Actually Steven there's a logic behind some of the different colored mascaras--those with blue tints make the whites of your eyes appear brighter therefore giving a fresher look.

See what happens when ya hang out with da goils?  Ya learnz all kindza kewl shtuff

OMG, the Cobalt!!!  I used to wear that too, it sooooooooooooo rawked!!

I still wear Navy but it's got more black in it than it used to, color's just subtle enough to brighten the peepers a bit.

Cosmetology is it ?  or Cosmetics IS a fascinating area.  Since I'm an artist it's an area I AM interested in.. Secret of course being the best makeup isn't obvious but it acts as an enhancement.  It's really a fascinating area, and it's a knack learning about complementary coloration given a persons features, tones, etc... I was going to go into Hairstyling, however I realized there's little more depressing then standing on your feet cutting hair off've others heads hour after hour.. So I just settled for cutting my own, and have been doing-so for 30 years..  I realize that the ONLY way to cut a style you want is to get familiar with how to do it yourself, get a complex mirror system positive image if possible, but I have 3-way mirrors and face a fourth for the back... (toughest part for a right-handed person of course is cutting the left back areas) Problem I've had is finding a good hairstylists (that doesn't move.. Seems the good ones don't stick around because as soon as you find somebody who you've trained to cut your hair as you like it... They either relocate, etc) and the TIME it takes to really cut hair well.. If you don't have a friend that cuts hair, cutting certain styles assuming you're really picky (like I was) takes a LONG time, and a long time translates into A LOT of money.  I figured if I can do it myself, I can do it in a few increments... take it slow... and do EXACTLY what I want..

I sort've have a funny makeup story (of course it wasn't so funny at the time). With the exception of touring, and opening for large acts playing at stadiums where others did makeup, earlier on (when I was in my teens) guys weren't as free to wear makeup, even ear piercing had to be a set way...  (windward ear for those that sailed)... For others it wasn't as socially acceptable in my geographic area, body piercing of any sort took off later on..

So, when young, I learned that makeup can be "cool" if done right, but a guy didn't ask for help with makeup in those days since it was really afeminate to wear it in the 60s decade (accept for acting of course)
s and early early 70's... So I'd do stuff like try to get a glossy look with suntan oil... and of course that'd give me zits... So I bought a cake of "Acnomel" and assuming I could also use that as a neutral base makeup, used it at times for the areas under me eyes :( ..  Needless to say that was the STUPIDEST thing a person can do with a sulfur drying agent... that pulls and shrivels thin-skin areas

I cut my own hair, too. And I also like to cut other ppl's hair, but I'm not a stylist or anything.

What do you think of mineral makeup? I bought a kit once and made my own, and I absolutely love it.

Is your hair thick, Kappy?

Yep, that's it! I wear very black now. I'm thinking of switching to brown.

I had the same person cut my hair for 8 years until I moved back home again (Greater Cincinnati area).  Now I can't find anyone to cut it the way I want as opposed to how they think it should be done.  Very frustrating  :madgo:

How about Soft Black or Black Brown?  A bit softer than Black but brown might be a bit too light for you?

Yes,  having very dark brown ash black hair I had the three thick layers (although now thinning) AND a wave (which is VERY tricky to cut into) and I cut and trained a style (without perming) that isn't mine.. I like a square cut back dropping straight down with maximum height in top center which is getting easier but UNFORTUNEATELY the reason being is that my hair is thinning so styling is easier than when it was extremely thick... (hate the rounded back look which is popular in fashion areas( but more or a triangular top center height (illusionary center part) meaning no defined part... combed back with defined full layering on the top (but shorter for height) and layering the sides feathering them into the back which is a straight medium length shag which is a separate styled cut (well mid neck that is),  I can't go with long anymore because I've started the male pattern balding and I need to be careful with weight so the top area must be shorter to counter areas...  I'll show you have I cut it now... Hold on...

I'll also show you what my HOPES were for my hair when I was on the road however I could never do it...  Basically I cut a layers, and shag the back... Which of course means washing it daily because it sticks out :(

This was the style I loved in the 60's... Problem is NOBODY even during the rock genre knew how to style this outside of the most costly stylists in NYC... and were talking big $$$$$$$

Photo's to follow

OK,  Now keep in mind it's no longer the Rock and Roll era that it was when I was actively gigging.. But I'd go into hairdressers with this photo from the Badfinger album.. Because *THIS* was the full layer shag style I really wanted when my hair was this length... NOBODY was able to cut it... Reason being, the shape of my head, my type of hair... and you can be sure that in this photo he's using loads of hairspray, and substances to keep this shape..  But this was my idea of an admirable Rock and Roll hairstyle in the late 60's - 70's

This was not me.. This was the bass player from Badfinger

Anyway... He was a youngster..

This is me,  the old fart who can't do that... Short hair is easiest

That was taken this time last year.. Currently I have the same stach, but I have a full gothe <SP> and a foo that comes down the sides to the stach..  The hair I cut that's not currently in a paper bag saved for a rainy day I justed glue to my chest.
Catch you later.. I need to lay down, first day walking around with the STUPID $&#($ Cane... While I got more walking in.. THIS SUCKS... Damn knee crud.. Sorry, had to vent.. Between that and just standing working on the Boston Song Cathi was nice enough to send me,  my knees throbbing... All I have is a strong falsetto but NO real voice... I'm trying to find one within myself someplace...  I am improving however, I will admit that... SLOWLY tho !!!

[align=center]Ya, it's a baby Pomeranian. I had an American Eskimo Spitz (he died a few years ago). His owner died and I rescued him(dog). Anyways, when I was at the mall I saw a puppy Eskie and omg they are so completely adorable! Here's what they look like...
