WOW.... I'm not only able to sing the falsetto to shannon, but I can now sing the body of the song in real voice  :worship: ... Only difference the top range of my falsetto given that song pins me in the F key, and I need to transpose to E.. and this software I have wants me to record in original key... additionally I don't know how to save songs to upload them..

Thanks,  I got rid of Come Monday because it was pretty lousy... I don't want a bunch of songs up.. I also got rid of Behind Blue eyes.. as I become more used to singing, I'll redo those.. I was scared xitless and tried blended into the backing vocals. LOL

Thanks Lena.  This is what I need to know.. Where I should be trying to focus my singing on... I'm going from Baritone to falsetto, with no ground area for singing.. I just haven't a clue.. This is what I need help with... Where should I sing.. What styles ?  Appreciate you listening.. I'm starting to feel confident.. Which doesn't make much sense considering It's been less then a day  ..  I now need to get an actual midi setup because this is quite limited to what K-Solo has, and they don't have much

Yeah,  I'll be cussing for awhile.. I'm pretty embarassed exposing my naked voice.. Especially considering it has no balls  <smirk>

You don't suppose folks in KS would find it awkward if my first SS sub is Harry Chapin's Taxi, and while singing it I start crying like a Histrionic little girl ?

Awww.

Here are some things you might try:

Amy-Pure Prairie League
Please Come To Boston-Dave Loggins
Lyin' Eyes-Eagles
Cool Change- Little River Band
James Taylor songs
John Denver songs

I really thought you sounded more comfortable with the Crash Test Dummies tune which is kind of low.

Yep,  I'll try Amie again..  "Falling in and out've love with you" Is the part I always enjoyed.. BTW... also CSN&Y,  with some notching out of frequencies on a PA.. Helplessly Hoping I loved doing I was able to fake the Young higher parts

JT is VERY tough... He's amazing but he's also about my favorite, and he has a very unique timbre tough to come close too (IMHO)  I Like Mud Slide Slim and the Blue Horizon but my favs are you can close your eyes, Don't let me be lonely tonight (which I can't do... TOUGH song) Hey Mr That's me up on the Jukebox... Etc

Crash Test Dummies were pretty easy, one shot.. but I don't have the baritone depth that makes that song really nice...I suppose that can be EQ'd but he really has that DEEP baritone quality, mine is just that hollow type voice but I hope in time, as I feel more comfortable I won't be afraid of putting "me" into singing, currently I'm afraid to do that...and I realize that I'm sort've running away and obviously Holding back.. I just wish for all the direction I can get because I'm pretty impressionable at this stage LOL

Kappy <----- Take it easy on me,   it should be easy to see... HAHAHA

Not really,  I want to be able to sing, I'm willing to take the blows it requires to learn to sing, It's more than just fun for me.. It's a goal..

Cool change I was playing with, and it's right on the real/falsetto line so it was weak.. But, I'm going to keep trying it because real should start to become more comfortable and less constricted..

Another song I always loved was "I love you"  CLimax Blues band.. High song.. TOUGH to do !!

Iffin ya wanted to do it right you could get about a $600 sound card that has 1/4" jacks.  Or you could get an Emu on eBay (for a decent price) that has heavy duty connectors.  Other than that you'll need to use adapters but goin' that route you'll lose fidelity.

It's an expensive hobby lol

Thanks Cathi,  but I can't even keep a goldfish let alone an Emu

My computer is antiquated.  Wouldn't it be cheaper now to get a computer that's DAW friendly ? Perhaps a Dell... My current systems are only 30 gig HD 256 RAM  P-4 systems from 2003  Probably best to get a system that's equipped with basics this time... For instrument stuff too... This computer music stuff is pretty interesting..

Mr. Kaplan,

I finally got through and was able to listen to your songs.  I could hardly hear your voice, I mean hardly!!   :(

I have an idea, would you please sing something acapella?  I just want to hear your voice, this way I can suggest {If I may} a song or two that I'd think would be suitable for your voice.

Waddaya say?????

I'm afraid to sing anything a cappella quite yet Dani, !!!  I really am, I already feel so exposed...  LOL   Tomorrow you will clearly hear my voice,  I promise.. I'm getting my guts up for the big audition this weekend !!  I'm currently getting my guts up for ME to sing as opposed to hide by trying to blend within the backing.. I'm getting some confidence tho.. Getting my feet wet before the big event !!

Did you listen to my crash test dummies, or wichita Lineman ?   I've since erased yesterdays efforts, and I'm off to bigger more advanced tasks :D   In fact, if I can gimp to the other system I want to sing more, but I'm resting this knee

What I'm getting started with is trying to blend in with choral type arrangements such as Association, Pure Prairie, and songs that have a bit more comprehensive backing because I'm not used to be "front" person... I feel weird soloing as a singer.. BUT, I'm starting Behind Blue Eyes was jumping the gun, I was scared xitless, and it showed...

Why are you afraid to let yourself be heard?  You shouldn't be embarrassed really, no one will make fun of you, promise...Just have a little faith in yourself, you'll be fine.

Besides, you have all of us who'll support you!  :hi5:

What is wrong with your knee?
