You seem to have been tramatized Mr. Kaplan, what is it about snakes that you despise?

Perhaps nothing more than some females with spiders.. I had a neighbor who was so afraid of bugs, that she had to sleep in a mesh tent... I tend to be a phobic person (truth be told) and I don't despise snakes, I'm terrified of them and I try to remind myself of this.. They are beneficial, they eat mosquitoes, I've worked in pet shops when young (and when A python escaped called in sick of course naturally to be the one to find it hiding in a warm place USUALLY behind an aquarium (MY big hobby was tropical fish), which is kind've funny because when I said fish GILLY started freaking out in here... We all have our fears of certain critters... I can't figure my snake-phobia out.. I've tried to desensitize myself... I've held them, they are amazing animals.. I've held the baby boas at pet shops... assuming they're placed into my hands.. It's not really the snake in-so-far as it is the silent slithery motion when you practically have stepped on it..

and,  you can't scare them away by throw rocks in a path ahead of you (assuming it's a heavily wooded path) before you walk, because if they are there, they just freeze..  They are REALLY weirdly different creatures..

Yeah,  I'm looking forward to the D-80 prices to drop... OR, better yet the D-200 (which is still over 1K)..  that's supposed to be the best affordable bet that we can grow into.. The D-40 is only 6.1 MP and isn't that balanced somewhat awkward since the body is small ?  (or am I confusing that with the Canon comparable model that has more bells and whistles but needs more computer tweaking for the final product?)

Anyway, what I was told is that out of the box, the Nikon takes better photos.. Canon requires software and computer tweaking and that to me isn't really what photography should be about.. but that's JMHO... I don't want EVERYTHING computer tweaked... something I'd like to remain a skill without technology having a means to perfect it

I agree completely, photography should not be tweaked at all, especially nature shots.

Also agreed, Nikon takes better quality shots than Canon.

Growing up, we had almost every animal we could possibly contain in an apartment!  My brother had a tarantula, a ferret, snakes...You name it, we probably had it...

I just bought a point and shoot Pentax M-20 a few months back for now tho (live next to Ritz and bought it cheap) but I think an SLR would be fun..  So many models, tough to choose.  I was wondering about the Olympus SLR's as well because the brand has supposedly made a comeback and since they have a need to get their name back into the playing field they are priced affordably.. Olympus although at one time a respected name, took a backseat over the years..SImilarly, I wouldn't buy a camera with the Kodak name anymore... Can you imagine what the digital realm is going to do to Eastman Kodak ?   Can't imagine they'll be able to endure the soom to be defunct film camera age.. Ferrets are pretty cute.. I wanted one but with allergies they are tough..  they of course are also supposedly escape artists LMAO

{Smiles} escape artists they are! The little bugger used to get lost all the time, he found so many hiding spots in our house!!

I am currently using the Olympus 600 Stylus.  It was like $300.00 at the time, plus I bought a memory chip for it.  It is an awesome camera for the price, but I am in need of an upgrade, as my photography skills improved quite a bit over the last year.  I'm looking forward to buying a Nikon.

You live in an area that has about the worlds best pizza, and you're getting Dominos ?   I'd be getting NY style someplace !!  But that's just me ! Location of course has much to do with that too (even around the city I suppose)..  Yeah, The Nikon D-80 body is running sales all over the place.. I'm wondering if it pays to grab the D-80 or hold out for the D-200 because I'm hearing that's a really nice camera.. Yet I don't know the difference, nor do I know if there's a significant enough difference given my own limited use to warrant the D-200 at any period.  Might just be superfluous. <----- One of them there letters is on double word score.. Hopefully it's a letter spellin stuff not only up and down, but side-by-each !!!

True, there is nothing like NY pizza.  Actually here in Brooklyn, we have the best pizza, but they don't deliver :(

Make sure to do a lot of research before you buy a camera, you don't wanna go and make a $600.00 mistake!

Superfluous - if the F landed on the triple letter score, and linked up to an adjacent word which connects to a triple word score, hmmm we'd be in business Mr. Kaplan!  Good word by the way!

Well,  Michelle (Beatles) BOMBED ! LMAO    I assumed that would be a basic simple song in original key.. I should've known that a McCartney song WILL NOT be an easy range... It's on that constricted head-voicey falsetto line that just doesn't cut it, but I'll keep it up to re-hear it... TOUGH range..

(I was going to start fighting with myself during the song on tape, but I only do sit-down comedy and type it out.. no stand up stuff in real over the mic). What a few of you said is absolutely correct, It never occured to me that some of the congested song is constriction and tension and not just a voice box that's not warmed up... I never realized this little bump in my throat needed warming      I'm learning all sorts of stuff !  I assumed the good vocalists just sing on a whim and never really get rusty assuming their health is decent.. It'll be interesting to see what happens when these throat muscles loosen..

What if I end up sounding like Kate Bush ?

I know what some are asking themselves around now. Which is,

"I wonder how Kappy's audition with Boston went this weekend?"

Oy,  Don't ask !!!   Tom Sholtz has a pretty bad attitude.   He wasn't willing to pay me the same as the other original members.. So now it's a holding out game !

When I first heard her in 1986 I COULDN'T stand her... When I heard her again in 1996, I couldn't stand her.. When I heard she does all her own arranging and orchestration after hearing "The Man with the Child in his Eyes", and "Reaching Out", I started appreciating her brilliance as a musician, as to whether she can sing or not.. I'm inclined to think that she has mastered yelling in the soprano voicing, although I have her tapes and CD's she does get me wired !   No,  I don't call that singing, nor did I call much of what Minnie Ripperton did singing either..  I think Kate Bush is the only vocalist I can listen to who's voice can shake the fillings out've my teeth.  I think she's a very talented musician tho..

Kappy <----- AKA   Diva

I never understood how Minnie Ripperton was so popular for her "Range".   Aren't some of these women just screaming around the general pitch ?   I don't consider that adding an octave to the voice... Dunno
