I suffer from sinus infections, so he recommended I do this to clear them up when I am congested.  But it can be done daily if you chose to.  I researched it and many professional singers do it as well, especially theatre folk.

I too suffer from chronic sinus congestion, and I have "Ocean" which is OK, and I used Afrin but that's only supposed to be used for a very limited time-span.. I've tried snorting water, and it REALLY irritates the sinuses, and BURNS...  Although I think I'll try it again,  snort the water, hold my fingers over my nose, and see how far I can spray it out've my tear-ducts and ears...  This can be beneficial since I can develop a technique to water my plants without having to get my butt off've the computer chair

Frequent steamy showers, lots of saline spray and drinking lots of water seem to promote healthy sinus drainage best.  I don't trust many medicated nasal sprays as they literally become addictive and only exacerbate the problem.

Oh yes I agree completely, Dr. Grapeseed.  I donated some points to ya, this way you can make your name look spiffy...

I'm just being silly.  I'm SUPPOSED to be doing that as well, I have a facial sauna too, problem is backsniffing water really is uncomfortable since it causes that burning itchiness in the eustacean tubes, back and back of the throat (already chronically irritated by post-nasal drip). I suppose since it's countering reflex which is for the nose to blow outwards, it would be logically there'd be discomfort..  I use those vicks sticks..also have a special attachment on the vacuun cleaner <J/K> :)   I think waterpik makes a special apparatus too which I should look into because you can't use standard waterpik attachments

I already have the waterpik, and they do sell a sinus attachment that isn't dangerous given pressure of a fine stream.. That'd likely be easier than actually snorting water.. Perhaps less irritating, dunno...

I know Dani,  and I appreciate it.  However doing it right is likely something I haven't done... Cupping my hands with water, submersing my nose into the water, and backsniffing is really uncomfortable for me.  Fact is, NOTHING else works, the nose drops and decongestants don't, and people can habituate to them.. I'll likely have to do this again.  Even one nostril at a time burns... I wonder if I can use a dropper and salt water to start with..  I'm a wimp when it comes to this, even burping thru my nose is something I try to avoid when drinking soda.  It's not grotesque, it's quite beneficial if it works, but I think I also have chronically irritated sinuses too, and it really does feel VERY uncomfortable to me

If the dropper doesn't work, maybe you could try a bulb syringe.

(I have an air compressor with bicycle valve attachments but because I'm not sure of proper nasal use how would I know whether to use presta, or schrader adaptor ?
I won't mention the fire extinguisher because like the firecrackers you folks are going to think,

"Kappy's just being ridiculous, those things have chemicals that aren't homeopathic and there are stories that could blow a persons mind" )

Kappy <------- :dunce:

(I need to get a richer timbre somehow, too hollow sounding and closed.. Still have that hybrid Kermit, big bird quality)

It sounds very accurate to me, pitch wise. Do you hear the "big bird quality" when you are singing or only when you record and play it back?

(It doesn't sound that way to me).

You sounded a bit timid to me, and not as relaxed as you were on the Glen Campbell song, BUT I'm hearing a marked improvement from the earlier recordings. I honestly believe that you ARE progressing.

Any joy with your mixer yet? If not, here's a thought: Maybe you could post a close up picture of it, that may be very useful to anyone who might advise you.

It may also be useful to take a pic of the ports on your PC where you are going to connect it.
