This question is specifically for anyone using the program.  I have one of the JVC Single Tray Machines.  I downloaded the trial version of this software to burn a couple test disks.  The discs I used were Memorex CD-r with a greenish recording surface and another disc silver recording surface (dont recall the brand.) I burned using the CDRao? mode and a burn speed of 1x. With each copy I made I continually got the unfinished letters and then left over spots when the swipe when by.

Power CDG Burner's website advises to use silver recording sided discs and specifically recommends TDK.  If anyone has any experience with using this program and has had the same problems could you advise on what you did to get a higher quality burn.  Are TDK that much better than any other disc?

Thanks in advance,
JT Miller

Are you burning files from the hard disc or are you copying CD+Gs? Please check if the files you are burning play correctly on your computer, as very ofter such errors are introduced when ripping, not when burning. Also what drive are you using?

Thanks for the quick reply.  The attempts were made using the copy function. I am not at home right now so the Drive model number is not accessible.  It is a lite-on cdrw drive that is housed in an external enclosure connected by USB 2.0.  somewhat of an older model(4-5 years).  It wouldnt burn on the first setting internal as it would continually lock up during the lead in process.  I switched to CDRao? mode and it did burn but as I explained leaving artifacts.   I absolutly love the program from what ive seen during the trial version, but am not in a position to purchase both a new burner + software license.

thanks
JT Miller

I think any high-quality disk -- i.e. Maxell, Memorex, TDK, Sony, Kodak, etc. -- will do fine. I use Power CDG burner with Maxell myself, and have had them read in many drives from KJs all over the country.

If you are using copy mode then you probably are reading with the high speed. Please change reading speed on Rip tab to 8x or 4x and the quality should be much better.

Ok I will definitly try that.  In the copy mode 1x is selected if I remember correctly.  That is on the main copy page just above the copy button at the bottom.  Is this the appropriate place or should I be looking elsewhere.  Again thanks for the quick replys.  The fist test was conducted on Maxwell Music CD-R discs Silver recording surface.  I hope this works.  Will update with results when I get home from work.  Hopefully I will be purchasing your program today.  T Minus 2 hrs 6 mins.

That speed if for burning -- you need to change the reading speed on Rip tab. I know this may be misleading and we will probably change that.

I see Ancient Chinese Secret.  I will see if that corrects the issue.

Ok tried several different ripping speeds 8x 4x 1x.  Burn speed of 1x and still the same issues I had before.  using Maxwell music CD-R.  I dont know what the problem is.  The Burner is a Lite On LTR 16102B

Please try ripping couple of songs to hard disc and see if the play OK (you may use Siglos trial or any other software player for this).

Well I had that problem...the only disc that would give me good results was a black disc. Black on the back that is. Also make sure your discs are clean and as scratch free as possible.

be very careful on the black cdrs! SOME of the karaoke players out there won't recognize them. I had a RSQ505 that wouldn't... but my jvc triple tray was fine with it.

Knightshow, funny you should bring up the black CDR/RSQ thing.  I found that my burned Power Karaoke CDR's were not reading on an RSQ machine,  but read everywhere else, no matter what the disc, and totally rejected the 'lite-scribe' discs...again, all of my discs play fine on all other players.  Go figure.  The good fairy of karaoke, did help me, as the RSQ finally died in the middle of a show and was replaced with a big JVC..now I'm back in action.   Shoo-bop-do-whaaaa!

The only thing I have found that sucks about Power CDG player is there is no way to set it to come up full screen automaticly ,,,you have to manually hit the full screen icon after each song. it can be a pain in the neck when your doing a non stop show.

While I don't do 'shows' per say, I do parties at my home. I use the Power Karaoke Siglos player, which gives me the dual screen thing.  One for my song list, and one full screen for the singer.  Although, I run off an external hard drive, the player also lets the laptop CD player play CDG's.  Just make sure you 'undefault' Windows Media Player, or it will pop up every time you put a disc in!  LOL!

mroctober...you can download a free trial version that lets you play 3 songs per disc (and is compatible with Vista), plus, being you already have one of their products, you get a break.  Sounds like a sales pitch, huh?  I have the Power Karaoke CG+G Pro, Power Burner on my desktop (XP), and the Siglos player on the laptop.  I've had no problems with the programs.  Remember, I'm not in a club, so I don't know if the Siglos is suitable for that fast-paced stuff you KJ's manage to do.

It is pretty cool!  I use a gradient background.  The second monitor (singers) has to be turned on before the computer, or your card won't recognize it.  Have Fun!!!
