I'm looking for a software program I can buy that allows me to do the following:

1.  Take mp3 songs I already own and add visual, synchonized karaoke lyrics to them
2.  Insert my own background videos that I create using DVD clips and personal home videos (not just still photos).
3.  Highlights the girl and guy lyrics in separate colors
4.  Be able to burn my finished karaoke output onto a DVD so I can play it on a regular DVD player.
5.  Preferably be able to load already created cd+g files, and replace the visual background with my own DVD clips and then burn the files back onto a regular DVD.

Does anyone know of a program that can do that?  If there isn't a program that can do everything I've listed, are there any that can at least do items 1 and 2 listed above?

Thanks.

the thing is... if it were that easy, why would anyone need karaoke songs in the first place?

Removing the vocals hardly ever works.

But if you have a backing without the vocals, you can build your own with powerkaraoke products, and with karaoke builder studio.

Karafun and some other programs will let you set the background to an image or if you're smart enough, to create one. And it's free.

Burning to dvd... I don't know of any that are working that would play in a standard dvd player. I know you can create some specific dvd formats, such as NEO and SuperCDG, and at least one other... but in order to use those proprietary formats, you'd have to check with those companies.

I have Power Karaoke Creator Pro, which allows me to do 1 and 3 on your list.  It's easy to use and fun, especially to change the words of a song...like make a female version into a male version.   The CDG only allows 16 colors, so clear color photos in the title come out speckled.  I use a lot of Black And white in the title screen, As far as colors for the word display, it has them all.
I'm behind Knightshow on the other items..especailly removing vocals!

acdc,

As knightshow said, Power Karaoke products, Karaoke Builder Studio, and KaraFun,
are products of interest. I have them all.

Power Karaoke - Has a cdg to dvd program that's user friendly. Changing lyric colors is often referred to as Duets.
Sync your music and background video and create Duet lyrics, Sounds Like What You Need!

KaraFun - Produces awesome visual effects. Too Bad they are KFN files.
You'll spend more Money changing KFN to DVD, that's IF you know how.

My Favorite: Karaoke Builder Studios: I don't want to say anything negative about Power Karaoke so... I'll stop right here.

P.S.  I Hope You Don't Think Your Going to Add Your MP3 to (Already) Synchronized Lyrics....
Yooooou.... have to Tap, Tap, Tap AWAY!!
 :bigcry:  PAIN IN THE @%&

Kind Regards,

Unfortunately, to re-iterate the first part of  Knightshow's post- You almost never come out with GOOD vocal removal versions, making the rest of the stuff kinda moot...

Thanks everyone.

Your responses have helped me a lot.  I'm going to test the 3 programs you guys mentioned and then buy one.  Haven't tried Builder Studio yet, but so far, I love Karafun.

I may just plug my laptop directly into the television if I go with Karafun.  Again thank you guys.  Your answers have been an enormous help.

acdc,

Whichever software you choose, stick with it and try to master it!
It takes time to synchronize. Each of these programs uses a different
Alogorithm to Sync. For me, KaraFun was the most difficult to master.

In the end, is it worth the time and trouble?

For me..I have to say, "YES".  I know the program well, I can customize the background colors and presention.  I do birthday "Roasts" with the tracks, changing the words to suit the "Roastee".  Also, there is a company (can I say the company here?) that is releasing original tracks, a lot that are previously unreleased, for download. For 99 cents, I can easily add the lyrics in no-time.  I have the time, I enjoy doing it.  Give it a shot.

The Thompson Vocal Eliminator is the best for removing vocals. The result is in stereo, very close to the origional. It blows the others away. It uses both software and hardware to accomplish this. The problem is the price. The cost of the device is $2000.00 US dollars, last time I checked.
