I'm looking to start recording customers & need a program that will burn directly from the tape out on my mixer to cd, no middle files or having to convert anything, just a straight audio dump basically directly to cd. What would you recommend...shareware is always nice but would pay for a program if nothing is available. I have Audacity but it doesn't seem to do what I need.

If you are trying record to a cd burner of your laptop you will need to save the recording first. Then burn with nero. I have not come across a program that will do it direct.
You have 2 alternative; one is to use a stand alone cd recorder. and the other is to record with Audacity, then burn.

Surely there has to be SOME program out there that allows a straight dump to cd without having to save & convert to burn?
I know I can buy a stand alone burner, but that is kind of out of my price range right now & I have a full computer ready to go. Audacity doesn't work for what I need.

Not that I am aware of. If I may ask; why do you not want to record to HD and then burn? This give you the chance to do some editing before you burn. The editing option is why I prefer this route than that of a standalone burner.

if you want to record directly in to a recorder, you need to find a reel to reel or a cassett recorder.
cd burnners dont have that ,try to find some one with a copy of cubase le software for your computer. and take it from there, its a cool software

Stand alone recorders can record directly to disc. That's probably the best option. Otherwise you'll need a separate program.

I've done some research on this, unfortunately all my book marks are on my PC at home... were I am not... so I'll have to look to see what I've got and get back to you. Maybe be a couple days as I'm quite busy if full time job and night classes.

I highly doubt that there is any program that will burn audio directly to a CD. IF there was it would be a big resource hog.
A stand-alone CD burner would be the only way to go directly to a CD.
Now look at this a different way....
1. Use your PC to record the singer in a WAV or MP3 file.
2. Tell the singer your songs will be ready next week/month/year at your show.
3. Take the files home and then burn them to a CD.
4. Take the cd to your next gig to hand out, and you just created a return customer!!!!

Check out Zoom H4 digital recorder. I connect direct from tape output on mixer, cost me 113 Sterling. I got from ebay from the USA. Fantastic machine. You can check out quality on my website.
