I'll never go back to that unless you can not use a wireless microphone ever again, period.
Anyway this thread was about wireless Mikes not corded ones.
hi-jacker.
Or 2009 could be karaoke Armgeddon.
The end of karaoke as we know it.
It's an RIAA plot to end computer KJs.

Right because it's still 2008. Nobody knows exactly how things are going to be yet. The government has a way to screw up everything. :O Just wait.

You'll still be able to use VHF mics and a lot of people already do.

$600 are not good enought any more. I'm moving another seres or two up.
I'm actually moving to a dual Shure setup it just under $2000. I plan to buy it at the Dj show in vegas next week. It scans 1280 frequescies all under 698Mhz. I will probally get a great deal I'm hoping $1700 including tax.
It's cost is only $6 a show. It only has to last a year. Then it's paid for itself. My other mics have lasted years, So I'm figuring why not buy one of the best out there.

Plastic ones mean when the drunks drop them, they will break easier.

$2000.... LMAO I know KJs that don't own PA systems worth that amount.
Will they sound 20 times better than a $50 one?
How bad will you cry when someone drops it and it breaks. I had a KJ drop one of my brand new microphones in the first week of use. Opps..sorry... :O

20 times better than poop still is poop.
I will know they will work with absoulutely no interferance. They will sound a good as any professional live sound concert or tv show like Americal Idol because it's the same microphones they use.
I will not shead a tear.
A replacement handheld transmitter without a microphone capsule is only about $450. They are made like tanks my shure mics have been dropped many times. I can conpletly repair them myself and shure lts me order individual parts. With my contacts and degree shure has even let me make authorized warrenty repair to my own microphones.

Cooooool! I'll know who to go to if I ever have a problem with my ULX gear!
Shure's myth-buster sure surprised me with this comment:
"If I take the ultra expensive, circa 1930s vacuum tube Telefunken microphone and I dunk it into a glass of beer or drop it on the stage ten times – or even one time – it will probably stop working. It'll become a paperweight while the SM58 will survive all that.
Today, all our condenser microphones are engineered to hold up to exactly the same abuse as an SM58 – they go through the same exact environmental testing. Drop testing. Temperature testing. Humidity testing. Salt spray testing. Vibration testing. Electromagnetic testing. They have to pass the same battery of tests – and they do.
The SM81 was introduced around 1978 as a studio condenser microphone. But because it is made from a machined steel handle and has the same sort of milspec environmental capability as the rest of our microphones, it was quickly embraced by the touring sound industry. There are SM81s out there on tour today that are probably fifteen or twenty years old. You can drive over them with a truck. Drop them on the floor. Hit them with a drumstick. And the same is true of all our condenser vocal mics."
Bet your $50 mic wouldn't put up with 1/20th of that!

$6 PER SHOW for a $2,000 wireless system - If I added correctly that along with all your other expensive gear and your 10,000 speakers your cost is now 4 million dollars per show.
LMAO LMAO LMAO LMAO LMAO LMAO

Maybe I missed it , But what are your uses for these Mics?
Are you a working KJ / DJ / Entertainer ? or will you be using these for home or hobbie uses?
