Some bands can't get jobs because of DJs.  

Bands usually have a very small musical selection.  DJs are very diverse.

Bands are usually stuck in one style.  Be it country, rock, hard rock, 80s...  Which means they draw a very limited crowd.   The 80s fan isn't going to hear a country band.

DJs have it all.   AS do KJs.   Every fan can go to any DJ or KJ and have a big selection of types of music.

That makes bands very limited to the bar they play.  And the area they decide to play in.   A DJ/KJ can play any bar or area usually.

Bands have big limitations.   Has nothing to do with DJs taking over the world.   Bands do have a big demand, if they are musically good.

A band needs to have a much bigger venue to get enough paying customers to make it worth playing.  A DJ or KJ can play in smaller bars and still be paid well.

Bands are limited to what nights they play.  99% is Friday and Saturday.  DJs and especially KJs can play any night.

DJs and KJs don't usually practice 3 times a week.    We can learn 50 new songs in the time it takes to get them in the mail.


We are all bound by the same permission requirements to play music in public.  Doesn't matter if the music is played live or recorded.

Also,  with a cover band you take the risk of subjecting females in real not just to several horny musicians, but a drummer too. People can get VD
