Those trees arnt quite tall enough and they wont nest close to dwellings but if eagles made a nest and you could watch the daily progress you would have experience of a lifetime. Then you would know why they are a treasure and our national symbol. They are awesome!!!!

Geez! All that snow! I am sure glad I live in West Texas! We had one snow...lasted 30 minutes and was gone! It has been in the upper 60's almost all winter long! Crystal, that is a great picture. --Mike

Cool pic, and to think Benjamin Franklin wanted to use the turkey as our national symbol! Don't mean to offend any turkey lovers out there.

One time we were rock climbing in the Organ mountains in New Mexico. At a critical part (sheer straight up )we must have been close to a nest for a mama eagle started swooping at us claws and beak open. At 2 feet away it is a sight one never forgets. Our protection was being flat against the cliff. I was carrying but did not shoot. She finally gave up.

haha... actually, my mother in-law always puts her dog inside when she sees an eagle. It's just a little toy poodle. She's been swooped at before! There's quite a few eagles around here. They're not as scarce as they are in the US... kind of ironic.

Thankfully they are making a comeback We live in Northern Colorado next to the foothills My sis knows of a few nests in trees similar to those in sparse populated areas and she tracks them and photos on a weekly basis. One pair has nested in the same spot for a few years.
