The free ones are the ones you type in yourself!  Otherwise there are any free ones that I know of either.

The song book creation done by MTU Hoster is one of the reasons I went with them. I have used Music Book Deluxe in the past, not free but very reasonable, and extremely simple to use - they have many fewer errors in their database than other song book software companies...and if you have individual songs to enter, or a disc that isn't in their database, it is very easy to enter the info. Can sort by song title or artist, and can add manu codes....multiple formats (single column, double column), change font size, etc., etc.  It was a blessing for me for many years, but I am SOOOO looking forward to not having to do books, now switching to computer and Hoster! WOOHOOO....

Would you believe I did my first book, which was 99 pages, both sides, small type, in Word?  oh man, it got to be such a big file that it woudn't sort anymore. Then, to top it all off, computer crashed, lost everything... So my book has two sections, both 99 pages long. Music Book Deluxe was a savior for me. You can download the software and then they offer upgrades pretty regularly, where they add new stuff. Their database is VERY up to date.  DOn't let it get too much bigger for you do the book! (Speaking from experience!)

Use a database utility program like Access.  Much easier to sort & stores much more.  Here is my artist section, it's actually been updated I just haven't updated my site for a while.

This was all done in Access.

Looks great, Lonman..the book. Looking forward to maybe getting a binding machine and making smaller books without the plastic sleeves, etc., just using the 'naked' pages. For $100 at Staples they have the binding machine.  Otherwise, I found out that the UPS store does any book you want, no matter how thick, for $3 each. Sounds decent to me, and maybe not worth getting the binding setup myself.

At the Koi Japanese Rest. in Bvue, they have their books in this kind of setup and they get a LOT of use and look good.

Will make a few of each and see what happens...how long they last without the plastic sleeves.

Well he needs a free songbook creator because of converting a 100 watt guitar head into a 10,000 watt PA system that can be heard for 8 blocks  LMAO Had to have spent some HUGE bucks there!!!!
