So I get this bonus at work, right?  I drop it, plus on a new set of powered JBLs.  Last night was my first show with them.  Unbelievable.  Sounded so awesome.  I thought my show sounded decent before, now ... wow.

Only thing I couldn't figure out last night was the vocal FX.  I used a Delay/Reverb effect on my other mixer (PHM1000 - behringer), but on my new mixer it doesn't sound the same.  I'm using a XENYX 1222FX (behringer).  What kind of FX do the rest of you run for your vocals?  I'm not into processors, just the FX on the mixer.  I have had good success and want to stay with it.

FX really depends upon the size/acoustics of the venue. With the JBL'S you upped your power and probably are getting more reverbs, in which case you will not need as much verb FX. I might try a tad bit of stereo.

In a place where there are heavy reverbs a compressor is almost mandatory. The vocals get buried and distorted with  echos and such. With a compressor you can bring the highs and lows above the music with increased mic gain and have better control of room acoustics. Some venues require very little if any FX. (At a certain volume level)

I don't know what the presets are on the 1222, but I usually use "small hall" on the PHM3000 and the PMH518. I use the Alesis Multimix on my Friday show, and there I use 08 / Vocal Hall.

Out of curiosity, what were your speakers before & what is the difference in power being pushed?

Can't help on settings as far as Behringer, but I also run a warm reverb with a beat sync'd delay.

Speakers before were PSX153s, passive with a EP2500 amp.  New speakers are PRX535 with 650w of continuous power built right in.
