I need help.  We are just converting to sax n dotty's show presenter. I bought a pc to tv converter and the only thing that shows up on the tv is the desktop.  I need to find out how to get the winamp screen with lyrics to the tv. And, I want to run my sound through the amplifer to the speakers and not thru the TV.  But my amplifier is a VocoPro DA-9800RV.  I can't seem to get the sound to go thru it.  Any immediate help would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance

No one is likely to help you much without some sort of description of the type
of computer, video, and sound card. Also, "PC to TV converter" doesn't mean
much. Model numbers, real descriptions. That's what is needed.

The sound goes from your PC sound card (i.e. the headphone jack or whatever it
is). To put lyrics on a TV screen, you use the Svideo or other connector on
your graphics and put Windows in extended desktop mode.

As mentioned you need extended desktop and you need to drag the karaoke screen over to the other side. (The extended desk top screen)

I like my S & D. :O

Run a stereo 1/8 jack from the headphones on the computer.  This wire needs to have 1/4 inch males one the other end. (That's male 1/8 stereo to 1/4 male, right and left.)   Plug the 1/4 inch ends into your mixer channels.   Use the gain control to keep the signal from clipping. (red light, Distortion)

Go to your display in control panel and change the monitor settings so you have 2 monitors on.  One will be the extended one.  That's the one the karaoke will be on.  The first one the S&D screen will be on.

You know how to import your songs?    Name you drive?

Thank you sidewinder.  I was able to get the sound and I was also able to get the video.  Works like a charm!!  I like the Sax n Dottys so far too. It's so easy to use. I still have some things to work out, but it's fun.

One problem I had was figuring out that I had to move the lyrics screen over to the 2nd display.  I didn't realize it would go off my main screen.  But I got it!  A friend has the same program and they have a small version of the lyrics screen that also stays on their laptop display, so that's what I was trying to achieve.  But someone set theirs up for them a long time ago and they aren't much help..lol.  But as long as I have it going, I'm happy.

I have my drive named and I did figure out how to import my songs.  I even used Flash Renamer and got them renamed correctly.
Thank you sooo much!!!!!

To get a second lyrics screen for your laptop this is what you do:
Go to Winamp\Plugins and find the file "gen_cdg.dll" Make a copy of it and paste on your desktop. Now rename the pasted copy to be "gen_cdg2.dll" Note the "2" in the rename.
Now move that file back to the Winamp\Plugins directory. So now you should have one file named "gen_cdg.dll" and one file named "gen_cdg2.dll" in that directory.
Restart winamp and you will have the second lyrics screen...if you do not see it -it might be hiding behind the other lyrics screen-if that seems the case just drag the other screen until you see the second screen and then set them as you wish.

I do something similar...I use the CAVS PlayCDG SP program which has background pictures you can select to be shown. I do not use it for playing any karaoke, only for showing pics and ads between songs. As soon as a song is finished the pics or ads appear, they show for however many seconds you have preselected and then change to a new one. Also fill music starts as soon as karaoke song is finished...so have fill music and pics/ads going for the 20-25 seconds before I hit play for the next singer.  I use some pics of the establishments appetizers...it has boosted their sales.

JD

I was just this week playing around with screensavers to see if I could somehow get a "marquee" on the extended desktop.  What software are you using to accomplish that?

2.81

I had tried that trick on it, and it didn't work then.

Ok, never tried it on a version older than 2.95  :handshake:
