I purchased MTU Hoster Lite online a few days ago and spend considerable time converting my CDG's to KMA files to run on Hoster. Everything was running smooth until I tried to convert a few files from my Hard Drive. Did not have any luck with this and found instructions to be confusing. When I went back to play some of the tunes I converted from my CDG's they were all listed just as before but none of them will play. I get an error message saying that the CT0002-20.kma'track file is missing. The file may have been renamed, or on a USB hard drive that is currently not plugged in.

Well, I don't have a USB hard drive and I did not re name anything so where did my songs go?

I submitted a help ticket to MTU a few days ago but no response.

Can anyone help me with this mystery?
:(

The problem may be that for whatever reason the computer reassigned the hard drive letters when the external hard drive was accessed/used.

THe MTU may be keeping track of the files under the drive names that were in existance at the time the files were made, but those drive letters changed when you attached the external drive (even if it is not USB).

It should be a Microsoft file issue more than a Karaoke software problem.

Some of the Karaoke software programs are a bit specific about file name formats, and they may ignore some of the songs if they are not just right in format.

Compuhost wants them to be in a format like "artist - song - disk-tracknumber" the "-" and the adjacent spaces are crucial for it to work correctly otherwise the song might be ignored and not playable.

One solution would probably be to tell the karaoke software program to forget it's current database completely and add the songs back in from the hard drive, the new ones and the older ones you ripped from the cds.

A similar error comes up on Sax & Dottys when the drive name isn't right.   Whenever you add drives or remove drives (i'm talking about plugging and unplugging the USB wires)  the drive names can change depending upon the order they were hooked up.  You must check the drive designation.   If it changed you need to change it back to the one you used to load the songs.

I do NOT have any sort of external hard drive. All my songs were located on the internal hard drive of the  computer. I did not unplug anything.

You would have better luck getting straight answers from the mtu forum with people that actually use Hoster on a daily basis.
