I have been looking for the best CDG dual player. Something that can be rack mounted.
Price doesn't matter I just want the best I can get.

I personally have the Numark CDN-25+g. Numark also makes two other dual cdg players. American audio and Gemini also make what you're looking for. Might be a good idea to "google" them and read customer reviews, and then decide from there.

I have a dual player, but it's software! clubdjpro!
Since the JVC triple was stopped, I haven't found a single player I LIKED!

That ClubDJ Pro looks really slick. I just downloaded the MobileDJ Pro program to try it. The MobileDJ program price on their web site is listed at 69 pounds. Can you get it anywhere else for less? Does anyone sell it other than directly from them? Thanks

First of all is that just for DJing or is it a karaoke player too?
That looks like a bunch of useless items on there. How many of those controls do you actually use?
Before i would waste money on an expensive disc player, i would go with a computer. The world is going digital and discs are going to become obsolete. The big news story the other day was about the declining CD sales and stores that sell them going out of business. The record companies are complaining about lost income. The artists are complaining because people don't buy the album any more because they can just download the selected tracks they want. I see the CD going they way of the 8 track tape.

It's for both which is what I do-both. It's a DJ music payer and a Karaoke player. I haven't installed the demo yet, but that's what it is described to do on their website.

From just the screenshot I could say I could personally use 80-90% of all the features in it at some point making them useful. I agree for the most part, however if the RIAA finally wins a case & pro djs/kjs must cease & desist from using digitally transferred files, then the cd will have it's merit, however I don't see this happening as it's too far out of hand now & they would literally need to bust probably over 75% of the nations population.

And for karaoke why would you need the sound effects, (songs already are full of them if they had them originally) beats per minute, loops, pitch (unless that's the key changer) tempo, eq, cross fade (no karaoke songs will be running into each other).
I like start, stop, cue point, pause, redue and the counter.

Sound effects, well to have some sound effects for fun. I have use sound effects alot in the past. Toilet flush for someone in the rehearsal hall, crickets chirping for dead audience, rim shot for a stupid joke/comment, we have a guy we call Mr. Ed, so I use the Hello WIlber when we call him, just fun sound effects. Beats per minute, no not so much in karaoke (this would be in the 20% catagory of features I probably wouldn't use for karaoke), but for dj use I could definitely see it. Loops would be another in that 20%. Pitch is key change so yes, tempo for speeding up or slowing down a song - yes, eq could be handy on occasion, crossfade is a HUGE plus for me as I like to have the next disc cued up & ready, sometimes at a predetermined time stamp & especially on long outro songs, I can get the next singer up & hit the crossfade, absolutely no dead air, the current song fades out, the new one begins, no lag time, no dead air. I run karaoke songs into one another all the time, helps speed up a rotation & get more people up singing, especially on out busier nights.[/quote]

I had a flakey ADJ 250 DJ player that I "retired" last year - replaced it with the American Audio (same co.) CDG-350 dual karaoke-capable unit. Nice unit, but miss the looping (DJ) capability. Takes up 5 spaces, 3 for controller, 2 for player. It doesn't have multiplex/vocal elimination, but that has not been an issue. I use a manual switch for the video - not a big deal.
Was working a venue where they put in a Numark unit (CDN-25?) - maybe was a bad production day; it had serious problems. The CDG-350 has been flawless. For a standard/single out player, if you can get one, the old Pioneer Twin Tray would be my recommendation. I also have the RSQ Triple Tray which I use as a backup and 3rd player, but it pales in features and performance, IMO.

The american audio cdg-350 also has a dedicated key changer essential for karaoke , which most of the other dual trays does not at a decent price point, Also guitar center stocks them.

Fortuneately for me, I have a key changer built into my mixing board, so it really makes no difference which player I use. Along with the Numark, I also have the Pioneer PD-V10G and the Pioneer 121G which is good for Lasers and CDG. I too have to use the video switch, but as marty3 stated, it's not a big deal. ( as long as you remember to hit the switch when changing over....oops!!)
