Anyone using the RCF Art series and if yes, what do you think? This brand is Italian and from what I've been reading, it's THE best brand out there with Electro-Voice?
I have in mind to get the RCF Art 310-A, this model comes with a 10" woofer but has almost the same amount of bass as their 15" model?
This brand also manufacture a model from Mackie, not sure which... Everywhere I read, it says it's by far better than Mackie and JBL? I heard a pair of 310 A in Cuba last week and was amazed to hear how smooth they sounded, and talk about the bass, I was trying to find the sub but never found it!!
I rarely see comments about this brand in here, not sure it's well distributed in the USA or perhaps I'm blind?

I run a small powered rcf (pm100) as my monitor. its a 6inch speaker would you believe yet still delivers 100watts. Its a work horse...bought it 2nd hand 7 years ago and its still going. Have had it serviced once, but I believe that was simply a clean I dont think they replaced anything.
When I took it to the Rock shop they said wow this brand is top of the line...pmsl at least one part of my rig is ![Wink ;-)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

Hey Vicki, good to see you enjoyed this brand! I tell you, this Italian brand seems to be the best thing out there, not cheap but when you want quality, I guess you need to spend... It's priced with the Mackie & JBL but day & night the difference, well, that doesn't really surprised me... but to see that it's better than an EV, well, now I'm surprised!!

Heard of them, never really heard anything bad about them, but have never used them before.

well darlin being married to the next best thing to a Scot I have never had the chance to get close to top of the line gear...his wallet would shrivel up and die ![lol lol](./images/smilies/emot-LOL.gif) ol
My FOH are english made Wharfedales...certainly not top of the range but they do the job and actually stack up very well against both Mackie and JBL at about half the price...but they kill me lugging them around being over 70lb each

RCF (after a little research) used to make the Mackie SRM450 & a couple other Mackie designs (or at least supplied the drivers for them) - so I can say I have at least heard them  . Now the new version SRM450v2 model has been retuned by EAW & are now supplied by their components.
Just a little useless info :D

Thanks Lonnie, I knew you would be able to provide some great info! I will get a pair of the 310-A and will share in here...
Vicki, it's funny, I'm also using a pair of Wharfedale, there my new Diamond Pro 8.2 (active), these monitors are simply incredible and are also very cheap! I sold my Behringer B2031, I can finally position the vocals in my mix, just need to record something new...

Micky they are studio monitors? I believe wharfedale are marvelous home theatre and monitor manufacturers, not as well known as far as the makers of pro audio equip.
I was only luke-warm on them when I first got them (evp 15x) but was setting up and sound checking one day on stage...I was first act in a 2 band evening. the venue was quite a reasonable size seating 350 at tables and having 2 buffet tables...anyway the two acts were soundchecking at the same time and where my speakers had no noticable drop off even at the back of the room, the same couldnt be said for the jbl's that were being used by the other band.
So I let them plug into mine for the night after I had finished.
I can have people sitting under them in a restaurant and speaking to each other normally, yet have people on the other side of the room able to hear perfectly...that sort of control has got me a lot more work than I ever had with the passive speakers

Yes, they are studio monitors ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif) You're right, Wharfedale is an old British brand (home of high fidelity) who design but build everything at their Chinese factory, they understood way before the others... I was trying to replace my Behringer Truth which couldn't do the job and after doing lot's of research, I came to the conclusion that they were the best option for my budget ![oh yeah :oh yeah:](./images/smilies/emot-woot.gif) You see, it's no secret, I come from the world of high fidelity, I own an old pair of Rogers Studio 1a which are the speakers the BBC used for many years and an old British integrated amp call Sugden, the smooth British sound is what I'm always looking for...
Here they are, it's what I call a bargain on the market! They cost me less than my Behringer and play better than the Mackie monitors which are 5 times more!!

Again if you heard the original SRM450's from Mackie, these were loaded with RCF drivers originally.

Very interresting news here:
http://www.gtaust.com/filter/09/06.shtml
No doubt in my mind now, if you have the money to spend on a Mackie, DON'T, get RCF and you'll have the BEST! Didn't know RCF was once owned by Mackie??? This italian company decided they would continue to buid in Italy and not in China like Mackie, smart move!

well, if you love your Mackie you should be thankful to RCF, they helped them build speakers... Mackie went to them when they decided selling pro speakers and even bought them thinking they could dominate the category, but Mackie had a poor marketing plan and ended up loosing the company... RCF are back on their own building in Italy not in China like Mackie and they really are ahead of every one!! And btw, I got nothing against Mackie, it's a great company but they just don't make the best speakers, that's all ![Wink ](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

Yorkville also used to use RCF drivers in the past in some of their higher level cabinets but I think Mackie had something to do with messing up that deal. I believe Yorkville now uses B&C drivers in the upper level gear. Let me know how the ART series works out for you, i'd be curious on how they stack up.

I love the RCF's...infact I have a set of older RCF's that they no longer make and was kinda sad about that, seeing that the monitor and the subwoofer RCF's speakers kicked butt!!!! WOO HOOO!! So yes to RCF!! ![dancin :dancin:](./images/smilies/emot-dance.gif)
