I have been using KJ Rip & Zip.   The songs are usually done in 5 minutes or so.

I'm ripping with MTU Hoster and out of 950-some discs, I have found 2 that wouldn't record...this morning I aborted burning on a disc that had taken almost an hour. On others, that were stubborn, I took the burn speed from max to 4 x and it helped. Might try that.

Chances are they were discs with MediaCloq encoded - this was Soundchoices disc copy preverntion encoding.  Were they by chance SC 8700 series?

No, I think he said it's an All Star Karaoke which is the old Top Tunes if I'm correct??? I remember having issues with Top Tune, they had multisession disk that not all software extractor could handle. I would suggest using Audiograbber and removing the check on that track, it worked with me!  Great brand of cdg's btw and pretty cheap at Wal-Mart USA, not available in Canada :(

Well actually I was referring to & quoted Karens post RE the 2 Sound Choice discs she couldn't copy.
I use MTU Hoster & Microstudio for my ripping.  Anything with Mediacloq (not multi-session - these are fine with the two before mentioned programs) I have ripped, i've had success with Tricerasoft CDG Ripper & a FULLY compatible Plextor drive - no other drive I have tried (LiteOn, Sony, Yamaha, HP)has seemed to work on these copy protected discs.

So far the only slow-ups I've had with Power CDG Burner has been with four of my Top Tunes. Not all of them though. But some big compilations with 19-22 tracks on each. And yeah... it churned away for over an hour on these guys.

I'm at it again tonight. Every waking hour I'm home. I want to get this job done. Get me outta here!!!

Well, I would suggest you do try with Audiograbber and remove the check on the track that's creating the problems or get Microstudio which will for sure extract them!

Audiograbber is FREE:
http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net/

again, I think it's the multisession problem I've had in the pass???  audiograbber will handle that.

I'm done with Top Tunes for now. But I have Audiograbber installed and if I get another I'll try ripping with it next  time. Thanks Micky!

Believe it or not, everything uploaded in the end - using MT Hoster. I am FINISHED!  Woohoo. Working on taking out all dupes and will have books ready to print probably Tuesday. Will take them to UPS Store and have them spiral bound...$3/per. Going to try books without plastic sleeves, just plain white paper, by artist and song title in same book.

I am amazed at how simply the MTU Hoster plan came together - set everything up in living room yesterday, had full audio and video, and if I'm not mistaken, the video actually seemed clearer! No snowflakes, even on the worst CDGs we burned.  Tomorrow night will be maiden voyage...I'm excited. Adios CDGs!
