I have another conversion project I am working on. I want to take all of my CD+Gs and convert them to MP4a for my 80 Gig iPod. For all those considering this :drums: ...let me tell you it is a painful process.
Here is what I have found I have to do...
I bought the Power Karaoke CDG to iPod Converter. I also found I needed to buy Karaoke Song Book Creator by Airwer Ltd. Here is what I have to do to convert discs.
1. Rip the tracks from the CDG with Power Karaoke - I leave the tracks as numbered only and not titled. The freedb is very problematic for naming tracks. They are always wrong or don't have the disk tracks available.
2. Check to make sure they converted properly - there is about a 20% error rate. So I redo the missing tracks.
3. Look up the disc in the Song Book Creator. Inspect the disk as it has problems with accuracy. Fortunately it includes a utility to rename MP3/4 tracks. You have to be doing the entire disk - it can't just do partial discs.
4. Open iTunes and import the folder and then have to edit all of the tracks to add information like correcting the listing of the file names. iTunes import the information on artist and title together in the title field. I have to add the disk and track numbers and then identify for iTunes that each is a Music Video instead of a Movie.
5. Finally sync them to my iPod.
It can take up to 15-20 minutes a disk. With 360 disks I expect to finish just before the next century.
I would love any feed back from anyone else who has attempted this.

Do any of the hosting software packages have any tools that might make this any easier? I have seen a lot of the KJs discussing shifting media.
Cheers
