hi guys im new to the forum. Hoping to gain an insight on how to run cdg from the laptop onto the tv.  Im real excited into meeting new people from the forum and getting a better understanding of how to run a sucessful system at home

Welcome -- I wish I had found the forum before I started buying equipment. I would have skipped at least two "karaoke mixers", a couple of mics, and the CDG player I bought.

WRT the CDG on the laptop, it is easy. Most laptops these days have an S-Video out that connects to a TV. You place it in "Extended Desktop" mode which gives you a second screen. Then your karaoke program will have a setting to use that second desktop for lyrics -- that is about it.
