I just started a club gig 3 nights/week after being out of the game for a while... I am running my show from a laptop and external hard drive.  I also have two RSQ Neo 500 players that I have never even used. (kept as backups)  I am about to start using one of them so that clients can sing from their own discs.   I am currently only running one 17" computer monitor which is working perfectly fine.  When I hook up the RSQ player this week, I am going to need to run it also into the computer monitor which is fine because it has a typical computer VGA out.   The issue is that I am going to need to run both items to the one monitor and switch back and forth.  I have seen these cheap analog A/B type switches which I have seen mixed reviews about.  Somebody also told me I could just use a "Y" connector, but I don't see how that will work unless I turn off the computer entirely to remove the signal from the path to run the player.  Any advice?   Thanks, D.J.

Why not run them to a tv as monitor? Much simpler to get wiring and switch.

I will eventually...the owner of the bar is planning on buying some new stuff... but in the mean time... I am using a computer monitor which is working perfectly fine.  I just need to know how these switches are working out for people.

I've used them, and they work fine. A good quality VGA switch and cable could cost $50 or more. Thta's why I suggested using a TV, you can get a TV AV switch for $10 or less.

Yeah, I actually have a combined convertor/A-B switch that I used at my previous gig to run my show from my laptop to their TVs.  Thanks for the response. ~ D.J.
