Hey all, I am fairly new to this and picked up a Vocopro DVG-555K player with an Idolpro set of wireless mics. Now i was under the impression that these would work together with my HT setup. I have a pioneer amp and so far the music comes through no problem but i am not getting any vocals at all. I know the mics work for a fact because they worked with my other karaoke machine that i had. Does anyone know if i have to do anything specific in my setup. I tried connecting it by optical and coax and both the same result. Maybe my player is defective?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, D.

Optical & digtal connections will not work with the mics, you need to go with the RCA anolog outs to make the vocals come through.

Then why on earth would they put an output like that on the machine if it wouldn't work??? Seems kinda weird to me. I will call them up and complain and see what they're willing to do about it. Thanks for the help.

Because these machines are used in home theater situations as well.  VocoPro isn't the only manu that does this, every manu (just about) that has a dvd/karaoke player will have the digital outputs as well, complaining will do no good, this  has been a fact since the advent of dvd/karaoke players for the last 10 years.

Ok, well i went home last night and i plugged it in vis RCA cables and still nothing. Got the music coming through loud and clear again but still no vocals. Is there any setup that i have to do within the machine or on my HTR?

Well it could be another VP dud.  I don't keep up with their products as they generally aren't very reliable so I don't know of any setup that would need to be done.  It could also be a bad mic or mic cord as well.  Do you have anything else you can test the mic on?
