Randy, if you do go with this and want to get 9V rechargeables, I would recommend the 9V Lithium rechargeables over the NiMH ones...  reason being that 9V alkalines are about 520mAH capacity, Lithiums 500maH and NiMH around 140mAH.

Therefore, the lithiums will give you around the same use per charge as you would get from an alkaline... the NiMH much less.

As an example, using Li rechargeables with my Shure ULX system, I get at least 4-5 hours continuous use from a fully charged battery (probably longer - have not yet tested further).  Using NiMH I would only get 1-1.5 hrs continous use!

FWIW - Had a KJ visit my show this past Saturday as her gig was closed for renovations or something. Never meet this person as my show was suggested from a mutual friend.   As previously stated I have set up 3 mics - 2 wireless $49 GEM-SOUND and a wired SM58.    As  this KJ approached to sing her 1st song I handed her the SM58.   She said she prefered a wireless ..... so I gave her the Gem-Sound

WHen she was done she commented on the lightness of the mic and the "good" quality of the sound.   I've had all kinds of singers sing thru them and they sound good .  You do have to keep fresh batteries in them !

They are CHEAP so I would'nt want them thrown around ..but then again they are were only  $49.     I got and use these mosty  for the DRUNKS who I afraid to hand them anything wired to my mixer as I'm afraid they'll trip and pull my entire system including laptop on the floor     LMAO  LMAO  LMAO

I've used my Nady DKW Duo several more times with zero problems or trouble. Never tried a Gem Sound wireless. Haven't used a Pyle Pro wireless. My DKW Duo, about $50 for two mics and one receiver, got it off ebay, brand new. I've sang 3 times recently on a Sennheiser wireless and it's 20 times the price of my DKW Duo, it's not 20 times better(Sennheiser is one mic for $500, mine is 2 mics for $50).

Last week the plugs on my ApI's bent and broke off. I attended another local show that had the VocoPro (ugh) 5800 UHF 4 mic system and actually thought they sounded good. i liked the fact thay use AA batts instead of 9 volts and last 12 hours.

Found a sale at local store and bought the system for $250 plus tax. Used them 2 times and the singers say they look better, feel better, but more importantly sound better. I usually have to run up to 6 mics anyways with the tourist groups, so putting 4 on the same channel is great instead of having to adjust individual singers in a group.

Solo singers use the SM- 58 wired and duos use the 58 and the audio-tech wireless.
Groups use the cheapo but good sounding vocos for now.  J.R.

Went to a local bar and sang on a Vocopro "cheap" mic that I thought was quite good.
I asked the KJ and she said they were the VHF dual microphone model. I looked it up and I think it's this

It felt good in my hand, had nice solid, quality construction, looked very good and had a very, nice clear sound. I would buy it. In fact I might get it when I buy my next set of wireless. What's nice is you get two mics for what one Audio Technica 252 costs. I know a lot of people don't like Vocopro and say their quality isn't good, but that's not the case with the mic I used tonight.
