Our Company Star Sounds Karaoke, my husband & I started Karaoke For The Cure here last year its a contest benefiting cancer research. Its the 2nd year weve done it & we did soo well raising alot of $ for Lyrics For Life benefiting childrens cancer research this year. It was an honor to have contributed to such a charity. Cancer has touched all of our lives in one way or another so to do this was very rewarding to the heart if ya know what I mean. Please take a look at the links below & share in our joy:) Thanks for letting me share  One link is to alot of pics from the event we have on our myspace page, the other is a video montage of our "top ten" and the other is a newspaper article of our efforts that came out yesterday. BTW , Just wanted to mention the "stage" "curtain" was entirely my idea & I made it ...2 black king sized bed sheets & some shiny fabric from the craft store & Wa-La ! The framing is actually a backdrop system for photography ( crafty,huh?!   )

Wow, excellent. Thanks for using karaoke for such a worthwhile cause. Looks like you did a wonderful job...and i love your backdrop. I've been known to use a black sheet or two myself!

Karaoke Kelley:

Can you provide us with some details about how you pulled this benefit together? Like sponsorship, entry fees, etc.? I'd be interested in putting on such a benefit at some point and it'd be nice not to have to start at square one trying to figure out exactly how to do it.

We do a Labor Day benefit for Jerry's kids.  2 hours sandwiched between bands.  We will also be scheduled for the city park on the 4th.. All free but a joy to do....

Karen, My hubby put all of the specifics together you can contact him thru myspace & ask him questions Im not sure of alot of the finer details myself I know the first one was a bit disappointing being only 12 contestants but this one with 21 was just awesome.

well done darlin, my mom has had a mastectomy and radical hysterectomy due to cancer...I have atypical cells, sometimes I feel like a walking (make that limping) time bomb  LMAO
