I never understood nail extensions.  Doesn't that scrape the cartledge in the nostrils when attending to personal hygiene ?

This thread has taken a nasty turn..

Boogers in your teeth, Keith?  <--(rhymes)  LOL

The trip is not confirmed yet, but I'm thinking it's 60 to 70% set for a "GO"..

Never been in the area, but I'm sure it will an "Estate" somewhere in the country..

Might even be fun..

Which is a great point Keith,  additionally the back surface of the nails can serve as a great tool for scraping tooth plaque and flicking it onto the wall behind the computer monitor while thinking of stuff to post in here.

Jerry, Seriously, depending on where you are going to be there may be NO local pubs, and the chance of singing in any local area is close to nil in most districts in the Central and Northern areas of the state. Karaoke isn't a big draw for nightlife in this area, fact is, nightlife assuming it exits is private around here and assuming it exists within close proximity of me, having gone totally straight years back, I lost all contact with friends that party- Starbucks, B&N, and trivia pursuit as saturday evening fun don't float my boat, I'd rather play online.. Nothing exists as an outside draw for fun unless you like church events, and poetry readings WHICH I DON'T..I'm just biding time in CT, but you'll hear terms such as "Pretty foliage" and "country rustic" associated with my area, NOTHING else.. If Pete is linked with Letterman, have him put you up in New York !  One DOES NOT leave Hollywood and come to CT looking to party, that would in fact make a hilarious movie theme, or parody -this is like rural N Dakota, or midwest desolate rural USA regarding what it offers for a nightlife, yet in many ways worse because it is conservative, cops target bars, and love to give DUI's so one is likely to have more fun in Nebraska where local pubs probably exist., It's going antialcohol around where I am. I've been targetted for playing guitar and drums and my stereo at moderate volumes during the day by local cops, One needs private property to even party privately, and even that doesn't exist within a reasonable drive of here, While it's somewhat rural, most folks don't have more than 1/4 acre,  since with the exception of farmland, Acreage or sprawls of property in this area with decent sized homes cost at least 3 million -folks that buy these homes are wealthy and are here looking for get-aways from the public, they don't want activity when trying to relax. There's little to no job oppt here.. It's a pretty hurting area currently in terms of offerings so there's little actual draw except defense related jobs. This is about 3 hours from NYC and Boston, and that is what some folks like about this area.. But artists that don't travel have no excuse for being in this state assuming they are actively pursuing their area, or they live in the south "Merit Parkway" area of the state and take the train into NYC, or love to fly.. NOTHING Sunday and Monday worth leaving the house for anyplace regarding stuff to do nights unless a concert is booked down in New Haven, or at a Casino South of here.. With perhaps few exceptions I don't know about locations that have bars open past 9:30 weeknights that are even places a person would wish to go to, yet they are by no means places that would have any source of entertainment.. Even to get beer and wine, you must go to a license package store, and the hours are restricted, meaning there is NO other means of buying it. I hope your buddy Pete is from CT and knows of private resources that have what you enjoy because publically nothing exists in this state that would excite you. To say otherwise would be a lie.. ONE DOES NOT come to CT with the expectations of drinking, partying, and having a wealth of resources. It seems that it's become illegal to have fun in this state.. More like a depressed retirement community..

I think for what you want, you have to be on a reservation (Casino) in CT and since those are exempted from state laws (private property) they are the resort areas, you'd likely have a blast at the Casinos, and they are self contained.... It's more like a drying out tank in CT otherwise...

Letterman lives down in Fairfield County (area I grew up in a few hours southeast). Very close to NYC.
If you are looking for just R&R some of the quaint bed and breakfasts in the Litchfield area are nice, great place to come with the wife to "get away" and chill yet these are basically just antiquing area with nothing else, in fact, be aware that a few districts are Dry, meaning you can't purchase or drink publically without making a drive out a ways. Whoever is bringing you out (not sure about the terms of this trip) should either supply you with transportation, or you'll be shut into an area that might have no stores within 20 miles, but ask Pete about details first ! CT might not be as good a choice for boarding as NYC outlying areas which have much more, Southern New England would be a fun one day "drive" thru for you.... Either way, in an estate area you are going to need a means of transportation otherwise I'm concerned you will feel quite stuck and board out've your mind UNLESS you stay at one of the Casinos. Difference between most of CT and the desert is "sand" regarding the partying however, a group that hits the desert doesn't have the extraneous limitations one finds in CT,  and is allowed to do their own thing unimpeded.  So again, please have no partying expectations in CT unless the person bringing you here has some network of people that love to party and have such resources, It's not what any would consider an "Exciting area", I'm about as wild as it gets in fact :(   .. all depends on what Pete has planned for you., otherwise what I am stating is what you must expect.. Around where I am is old 1400 and 1500's historic farmland, old conservative christian values ( just how folks wish things to stay, meaning anti-business and commercial zoning). Yet a car on the road after 11 PM here is a target and suspect in certain areas and weeknights. Make sure you don't get a DUI in central CT. I think only Arizona is more strict.. I gave up even going to the restaurants that had bars around here, because the last of the fun places shut down, and being close to 50 at that time not being one who drinks or likes to party anymore (almost killed myself in my day doing that) if I went out alone just to get away and be around folks, I was still an outcast and alone in an environment where I was viewed as daddy's age, so I'd hang with the owner watching the kids, and talking about "How things were".. or, I'd go out with a few friends as the designated driver every once in awhile so I felt as though I had an excuse, as the chaperone. THOSE places are gone now, either shutdown, raided, but deliberately put out've business by locals proetesting their existence..  Don't expect what you have out in your area to exist here.  It doesn't unless you are being brought here by partyers. Unfortuneately I've been out've that loop since the very early 80's. Yet even 25 years back, CT offered MUCH more, now things are slowly reverting tp prohibition times, and  around here bars are next in line to houses of ill repute, or for 22 year olds who are in transition, but even THEY aren't nearby.. Towns don't like the bars here, and are putting a squeeze on them in hopes of shutting them down.. In my area, a bar can't get zoning if it's within a few miles of a school, or place of religious worship..  If you wish for quaint quiet and expenses paid rustic country in exchange for your services, this is a great state, and you might survive a week or more.. This is a great area to :dry out: in, and repent..LOL

Fact is, folks that love to party that are single and wish for excitement DO NOT live in central CT.. They move.. Honestly, I don't have the energy, or balls to relocate, change is tough for me, even though it may be for the better..

Keith,  funny thing is when I'm planted in a hopping somewhat rowdy area I do quite well (yet this assumes I don't need to have adequate fighting skills enabling me to avoid spending money on duct tape to cover my (@$%&#!) from the rednecks that think I sure have a purty mouf).. This is a decent area for those that are older, married, retired, and waiting to die and have money, and wish to spend the later years on "Happy Acres".. Also those that want a decent school system have a family, a good job, and don't mind commuting, yet funny thing is, FEW of these folks are really happy either. OR, those of us that don't wish for more and work out've our homes about to retire,  Yet I want more excitement meaning the arts, and music, musicians, and just places to jam and have fun within a stones throw....

I wouldn't be happy in your area, yet I'd be no less happy than here, thing is, assuming I muster up the energy and leave the family to move to a place I'd be happy in, given my current contents an apt in NYC wouldn't work..(At least affordably).. Yet still wondering about a place right in Nashville or Branson...I coant stand heat and humidity tho...

See, problem is, I'm a high maint prissy byotch, with more musical equipment than most can imagine.. Moving is a big thing. Perhaps Portland or Seattle or Vancouver are a possibility too.. Retiring completely this year.. Need to make some decisions regarding what I want in order to be happy, yet so-far, this is a case of kid ends up near family, and stays..

Hey Keith,  while I've never been, so I don't know firsthand what the places are like,  wouldn't you be happier with a home and some property in CA, or the Pacific SW ?  Just wondering.

Forgot to add,  it's aesthetically pretty here (yet the whole appalachian area is IMHO) from northern georgia on up. You get four seasons here (for those that care about that, meaning skiing too),  I can do without the summer..  Wonder what it'd cost to get a decent sized home right near the Berklee school up in Boston, and enroll as a lifetime student

The Pacific Northwest is a good possibility,  I hear in terms of "Bang for the buck", there's affordable land around MT. St. Helens

My understanding is, I will have a "driver"..   (Not golf related)  LOL

I expect to be in the area no more than three days, four would be absolute max..

Thirty cars, @ ten per day.. (Full day)

My goal is to complete the work on time and under budget..

$1000.00 per diem.. plus the fee for the appraisals..

It should be fun..

That sounds great Jerry. My concern was that you'd be grounded in some bed and breakfast bored out've your mind for a week (or more) with the exception of a serveral hour car show on a saturday. That'd be nasty.

Remember, this isn't LA or Vegas,  CT has no "Hertz-Rent-A-Ho" franchises
