I remember when you could get 4 gallons for a dollar.
Soon it will be $4 dollars a gallon.
Took almost 40 years.

Just paid $3.36 here in western Michigan. That's a bargain compared to a lot of place, ie. California. Too much! You nearly have to take out a loan to fill up a car with a good size tank.

Blue Rose, where do you gig in west michigan? I'll come check out one of your shows.
OFF TOPIC
Ah, nevermind, I looked at your intro post. Don't you mean oceana county? I'm just a little south of you. I grew up in Whitehall. You mentioned you have the most songs in your area. Are you aware of Outlaw Karaoke? He operates shows where I live, but does a couple in Oceana. He's my biggest concern for competition. He has about 14,000 unique songs, and seems to end up with a lot of other kj's gigs.

I recall when I was first married (yikes, 22 years ago...) we lived the foothills in CA about 22 miles out of town. We could put a dollar of gas in our little Mazda hatchback and KNOW it would get us all the way into town no problem... it was like 82 cents per gallon. It would sure be nice to see prices like that again. (or atleast have that little 40 MPG Mazda back) LOL

In Oklahoma city this morning I paid 3.16 a gallon. When I got back into Ft. Worth texas the price was 3.29 a gallon. Glad I filled up in OKC....
.. I remember sneaking my parents car out when I was a teenager. We would go to the gas staion and put 1.0 in gas in to replace what we had used and then would have to drive around to get the as gage back down to where it was because we had put too much in...

Jian, 1 US Gallon = 3.79 litres
Therefore, RM1.80/l = RM6.82 per US Gallon
On the West Coast in NZ, 91 Octane hit $1.979/ litre a day or so ago. That's $7.50 per US Gallon!
Don't know what the complaining is all about in the US.... they got a long way to go!

The complaining comes from the fact gas has risen about $1.50 - $2/gallon in less than a year Murry (depending on location). That's a pretty tough pill to swallow, especially considering the oil companies posted record earnings last quarter--over $6 BILLION. Where's the fairness in that?
Gas prices here range from $3.37 - $3.51/gal currently

Don't know what the complaining is all about in the US.... they got a long way to go! True, partly because we don't tax our gas as much as many other countries and we have the crappy roads to show for it.
Not to mention that people in my area often have further to drive to get to work. Living closer would be nice if we could afford it. If you're able to get a place close to work that's great but two years later when you are laid off due to downsizing, your next job is often much further away.
We picked our current home because it is central to all of the jobs in the area. My wife's commute is still thirty miles each way and at least 15 miles of that is in stop and go traffic.
We're fortunate enough to afford to soon buy a higher gas mileage car so she can get out of the 2.4 liter she's driving now. Many people here don't have that luxury.
Talk about a commute, "Poles' 22-hour commute pays off - illegally - in EU" http://www.csmonitor.com/2003/1209/p09s01-woeu.html For the hourly wage they are working I would do it too.
