This poll is for the KJs in here.

After hanging out in here for the last couple of months I'm wondering how many of you KJs actually enjoy this.

Personally I love doing it. But I've only been at it for a couple of years and two nights a week at that. So there's no burn-out.

Extra brownie points to the KJs other than Lonman, Karen K, jreynolds, who can identify the song in the title, a huge hit about five years ago and sung all the time if there's anyone in the room under 40.  I think it popped up on mckyj57's list too.  But I'm sure you all can. This one is real easy.

Bill:

I can honestly say that there aren't many jobs I'd be happy to give up my weekends and weeknights for, for the last 12 or so years, and still look forward to it. Aside from the obvious social benefits (meeting the best people in the world, who have remained, and will remain friends long after karaoke dies), we are fortunate to be able to provide a service that affects so many others in a positive way. Establishing friendships with owners (of whom two have become very good friends as well) and helping them make their establishments successful is another great benefit.

So yes, Bill, I'd have to weigh in very positively here about the business. This board is fascinating to me and I probably chime in too often on issues but why not share our experiences? I know people who are gleaning very important information from all our 'conversations' about things.

It would be hard, not to put a little bit of my vote to the 'c' choice.  However, if I didn't love the job, I would've never taken on the business side of it.  I really enjoy providing a good service to people that enjoy it.  Like Bill, doing it only 2 nights a week, preserves the burnout effect.  I've said before, and repeat, if I hosted full-time, some of the joy would NOT be there for me...MrD
