SD, I've sung a few of the songs on your list--they are:

You Make Loving Fun, Fleetwood Mac
Dreamboat Annie, Heart
Bad Boys, Gloria Estefan

Actually I believe that last one is called "Bad Boy" (singular) rather than "Bad Boys" (plural).  But anyway...And I noticed "Dog & Butterfly" on someone's list--I've sung that too.  That's one of those songs that's harder to sing than I thought it would be!

Sure is Straight On. Somar is an amazingly good singer, and I notice they do a lot of gigging down your way...have you had a chance to see them?

Not yet, but then I don't get a whole lot of time to myself to go play on my off nights.  Planning to though, from their recorded shows they sound great!

I'll PM you when I am going to be around.  What nights do you do your show?  I'll be in the area from thursday and until the following Wed.  So I could come out just about any night.  I am looking forward to it. And since you are near Snohomish I can bring my best girl friend with me too.

First of all, Isis--assuming that is you in your photo, you don't look old enough to have a kid who is married!  And I'm _not_ just saying that to be nice--I really mean it.  Secondly (this is regarding another of Isis's posts), I have sung a couple of Olivia's songs myself.  I sang "I Honestly Love You", and that turned out really well, and I sang "A Little More Love", which didn't turn out so well IMHO.  I'd forgotten how high some of those notes were!

To update my earlier message in this thread:  Tonight I did, in fact, wind up singing "Town Without Pity" and having the kj change the key.  It worked out pretty well.  I didn't do it _perfectly_--let's face it, it's a hard song to sing--but I loved singing it.  I don't think many people there were familiar with the song anyway (the kj had never even heard it), so perhaps they didn't notice that I screwed up the melody at one point.  A couple of people told me I did a good job, so that's cool.   I'll have to try singing it again sometime.

Someone in this thread mentioned "Lonestar" by Norah Jones--I've sung a few of her songs, but haven't done that one yet (or heard anyone else do it).  I'll have to try it.

Seems like there are a lot of tribute bands out there.  Sometimes I say that the next thing you know, there will be tribute bands that pay tribute to other tribute bands!   LOL   Actually, I know a group who started out as an Alan Parsons Project tribute band and eventually started doing original stuff; their name is Rubber Universe and they have a new CD out.

Laura!!!  I love you!!!         Thank you!! And yep, those are all my pics on my profile and in my gallery.  Or should I say, yes, they are me.  I can give site references (Lonman, ATXKlown, Johnny Reverb, Fullhouse Entertainment, XX, Saturday Singerand more but I am having brain flatulence at the moment, LOL).

I love Olivia.  I do a ton of her stuff.  And yes, it is really high in some spots.  Please Mister Please always gets me.  I find myself thinking, why am I torturing my voice this way?

Anyone ever hear Abba at your shows?

I've sung "Take a Chance on Me".  It was kinda funny because I didn't know what a lot of the lyrics were until I was singing them and they showed up on the screen!  That's a good one.  I'll have to sing that again sometime (along with the many, MANY other songs I want to sing or sing again).

Never heard anyone do Dean Martin-Ain't That A Kick In The head, it's a great song, Louis Armstrong-a Kiss To Build a Dream On.

I just heard the Little River Band-Cool Change for the first time, great song, I decided to sing it after hearing it sung.

I've never heard anyone other than myself sing-Styx -Suite Madam Blue, I think it's a great song.

I look for great obscure songs that other people don't ever sing.

I'd like to see Captain Fantastic and The Brown Dirt Cowboy available on Karaoke.

I sing Levon and Madman Across The Water-I never hear ANYONE sing those songs.

I also do Kiss And Say Goodbye-by the Manhattans and I don't think anyone out there is singing it. Maybe people in your areas are singing some of these songs, I don't know.

I've heard Kick in the Head once only.  I've never heard Kiss to Build a Dream on, though I've got it on a person disc.   I've sang Cool Change once, and I've heard someone else sing it once, so that only twice in  about 5 years!  I sing LRB's Reminiscing and Lady more frequently.

What disc is Captain Fantastic on?

I have rarely ever heard anything by Sarah Brightman. Very few kj's even have her material in their library. Some highlights that I would like to hear:

Time to Say Goodbye (Con te partiro)
Amigos para siempre
Harem

Ukiah by the Doobie Brothers
Xanadu by Olivia Newton-John
Glory Box by Portishead

I know, it's three songs, but I couldn't resist.
