I also do Kiss And Say Goodbye-by the Manhattans and I don't think anyone out there is singing it. Maybe people in your areas are singing some of these songs, I don't know.
I did hear a guy sing that the other day.
I've never even heard "Ain't That a Kick in the Head"--which just proves your point about so many songs not getting sung often enough. The first time I sang "Town Without Pity", the kj had never heard it before. On the one hand, I was thinking, "Good. I'm glad I picked a song you're not sick of hearing!"
But on the other hand, I was thinking, "That's unfortunate--this song isn't THAT obscure. It's a coupla years before my time, but I've heard it! Why are so many good songs not being sung for karaoke?" (In this case, it's probably 'cuz it's so darn hard to sing. But it's also because people pick the same 20-or-so songs over and over, and most of the songs in the book go unnoticed...)
BTW, remember earlier in the thread, I mentioned that I'd like to hear someone sing "How Long" by Ace? Well, last night I heard someone sing it: moi.
I had the kj's put it in a higher key, but it was still a bit too low for me. I'll have to try it again and have them key it up a little higher than that.
