If some of you professionals were presented with a room like this...and had my equipment on the side of the picture, how would you set up best? The 'right open' spot is where I am and it's about 12' X 28'. Any thoughts are appreciated! Thanks, MrD

First try. Are the walls short bars? Experiment with angle of speakers.. Wattage?
Sub under wall tv against wall.

Well, I've been here about 8 times and set up different every time. Not found the sweet spot yet. I've done the subs under the tv most times and that does work best. I've generall been on the bottom rh corner(I'm stuck in the open spot for sure)....where to put the singers is the puzzling part. (I like about what you have, but I fear as we get busier we have to leave that huge table on the top, I had made that part the stage and worked out ok......but it's hard to clear out to set-up, people want to sit there...so that pushes me in a weird spot) They HATE their backs to the auidence, which I understand w/o using the 2nd smaller tv. The two upper walls and the middle wall are full up with booths not tables inbetween (not moveable). The line between the open space and the tables actually in a wall coming down from the celing it's about 7' high the full width. As far as wattage goes, I'm sending the subs 500 (too little) and the sp2g's 450 (when I use all 4) I had the subs bridged and sending them 1400(too much), but ok...but I unbridged to use other channel for a monitor speaker, but can go back. Thanks for looking Ollie, I've been trying different stuff and thinking of every option..just looking for more! MrD

If I understand you right you have a 7 inch wall hanging from the ceiling ? That acts as a baffle and muffles sound.. I would set up on other end...

I'd would put your table and set up in the open area bottom right-
small tv a few feet in front of the wall mount so people can face the crowd while singing and people will be looking at the singer while reading the BIG screen.
On each side of the wall mount tv I would put a MAIN and and SUB ( do you need 4 mains?) if you have to run 4 mains --maybe at the far end of the room (far left) facing the front? this way you have all the music going towards the center?
hard to visualize

The whole width of the bar is a wall coming from the celieng down, seperating the two rooms. The celings are like 10' high, this upper knee wall is about 7' off the ground (so about 3' high) You are correct, if I move the speakers up front, on my poles.....it covers the horns..NO good. I'm still toying. Talking about options, gets me thinking of different way. No I don't need all 4 mains, can get by with two easily. Thanks, MrD

I think I'm going to try something like this tomorrow (just turn down the left speakers that are over by me a bit).....The biggest issue is that I have zero time to try anything, it's set-up and run. Everything is on the fly, I'd like to go in during the day sometime and try stuff out...but hasn't been possible to do so.....and if I get there early on Friday nights...it's "packed" with dinner crowd, the whole back room is filled with table until I get there. I think this may work out, we'll find out..that's for sure! Thanks, MrD

I tried to rply earlier but got disconnected That baffle hanging from the ceiling will muffle the sound a bit With that one speaker right below it it might work Would be better even if the speaker by large table was closer to the baffle.
You prob will need a monitor. Let us know what happens.

If I stack the (2) sp2's then it's a little lower and under the problem hanging wall. That is another reason to skip the poles in this instance. Another issue when I put the singers that close to the subs, I have to about keep them off durning karaoke, because the mics will pic them up!....We shall see..MrD

Are you worried about the sound at the back (left side of drawing) of the room?
l
l Speaker facing "'M" X
l
l "'M"
l TV l l
l
l DJ
l
l X Speaker facing "m" (Optional) speaker facing "m" X
Table facing the crowd from TV to corner.
Use one yellow or the other. X is Subs and tops stacked.

Well I ran the set-up like I had planned. Best Yet! A few differences though. I didn't end up using the 2nd tv, you could kind of turn and see the big tv, worked out fine. It was a little more cramped than I had planned on, but overall..it was what I needed, I found the sweet spot...just a few little tweaks. I also did the 'trainging' on the 2 guys that are covering for me for the 1st hr or two that I'll be missing, it went well. I'm not too worried, I think they'll handle it just fine. Thanks for the help, MrD

I do have a 8 channel snake if I need it, it's a little too cramped for me to set up the way I would really like to. It worked out well....going to keep it about that with a few minor tweaks......MrD
