Manfred Mann's "Blinded By The Light", right?

Actually Springsteens version was the original.  Manfred Mann recorded it a few years later & their version is the one that actually sounds like "Wrapped up like a douche".  The Springsteen version was a little more understandable.

I probably was thinking of the Manfred Mann version when I posted.

I had someone laughing about the douche bit the other day... and I told him "Google the lyrics... it's NOT what you think it is!" LOL!

Revved up like a duece - a deuce is referring to a 1932 Ford hotrod.  Actually Springsteens original version said "cut loose like a deuce" - ie little deuce coupe.  But then others take the song as being on a cocaine trip.

when i was young, 1968 ish, the hollies "long cool woman" was absolutely undecipherable. we spent hours listening to the 45, and still could not figure out the lyrics. when we played it, i'd just mumble through the lyrics we couldn't come up with. later in life as we discovered and had bux for sheet music, i was suprised to find that what lyrics we thought we had down were still wrong. no local band of that era could figure the lyrics out. "Louie, Louie" is another story in the same vein. i could not print here what we used to sing ie, she's got a r@g on, I'll move above. Can You Imagine!!

This topic is quite enjoyable and there are websites that discuss some classics.  Try this one, in particular!

http://testpattern.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2007/09/18/365374.aspx

One of several parodies I have written and sing on occasion is "There's A Bathroom On the Right"

The other is "Teddy, Dear" (by Elvis)
