Hi
I noticed your post about touch screen karaoke system and would like to know if you have any ideas on software/hardware I can use for a touch screen system for my upcoming private room karaoke business. We will have about 15 rooms each with their own karaoke set up that people can rent by the hour.
The difficulty is that to replace the songbooks we need 2, 3, 4 or more touchscreen terminals in each room.
My idea so far is to have a central server which holds all the songs. In each room I would then have a client PC which would have karaoke player software, which would output the music and video to a wide-screen TV.
To connect the touchscreens I am thinking of using
Ncomputing's Xtenda , which would create up to three virtual PCs which would be connected to each touchscreen.
I would prefer to be able to use some kind of existing jukebox software on this system, but I think I'll probably have to make my own using Flash or HTML. The cuistomer would then use the jukebox software to queue songs onto the client PC, which would retreive them from the server and play them in order.
I would probably use 8 inch screens for the interface to save space and to keep costs down. Some thing like this:
http://www.xenarc.com/product/700tsv.html Do you know of a small touchscreen thatcan be controled from a mouse port? The Xtenda system does not have a USB connection and this monitor has no mouse port
Do you think the above system could work and what problems would you forsee?
Thank you for your help. I look forward to your reply.
