I have been so busy of late that I basically have semi-retired from this site (at least for the forseeable future). I can definitely relate to what is being said--- but that is just human nature- to listen to what you like; are familiar with' or who you kinow; especially when time is a premium and choices have to be made as to what to listen to and what to forego.

I really do miss the comeraderie here, but I have to be realistic--- I really cannot afford to keep spending on average about 30 hours on each song that I sub for only a handful of views (sorry to sound a bit bitter, but I've had a rough time the last couple of months- so much so that I worry myself thinking how much easier it would be just to end it all). There really are so many quality singers here, it is simply a shame that it is inevitable that some just get lost in the shuffle.

And the friendships that I have been able to develop here- I think this will be the biggest thing that I'll miss.

I''ll be hanging around and will check in from time to time (think of me as an estranged distant relative). I send all my love to you.

Your friend- Kristi

  Just to chime in a little, Something I've noticed is a New Singer comes on.. Doe's a few songs, and is almost type set based on their voice, I'm a prime example of that.. Yes I have a low range and can blow the bottom out of most buckets.. BUT, One of the fun things in singing, and Learning is to Try new things, OK so sometimes they really S-CK.. but one should know that before they sub it.
I have learned so much since coming here,  From reading the responses to my subs. As well as how to work on my timing, range, and all kinds of other things that Hopefully have helped.  I asked a VERY Dear friend that I met here, in a PM.. If I had done or was doing something wrong, because I found the more I sang, The wider my range would become.. NOW I know, I'm new.. Keep in mind I started singing (outside of the Potty), Just last June '07.. So alot of this is still new to me. She told me to think this way.. " the voice is just like any other mussel, The more you use it the more you can do with it.", Was she ever right..I will NEVER forget her help !!!  Thanks to a few others here I also have dared to try a couple of songs for Metal Monday, SOMETHING I would of never thought of.... Alot of the reason for the desire to branch out IS based on the comments to my sub's, I know that they all are not that good, but why no, You have to take the good, with the bad sometimes..

I listen to as many songs as I can, Even if I can only stop in for a few seconds, WHY ??, Because I want to hear you, and It also helps me. As soon as I can I comment on the songs I listen to, and reply to those that have commented on mine, I'm still working, and am busy most of the time.... BUT I will always try my best to make sometime for a Friend.. And I think I have a lot of them here..

Oh My I did just what I didn't want to do, and that was get on a soap box, sorry.. But this is the way I feel.. Love to ya All.... Tom
Oh, As for changing your name, If you do why not put ..(aka.whoever) in thee description, so folks know you've done it..

Woooo! Did I just read all of this? LOL
This subject has went from coyness to religion, from bitterness to apology, and from selfishness to arrogance! And not in any particular order!

It's one thing to develop friendships and comraderie between singers, but to say that it's only fair when you give as much as you receive is ridiculous!
Mona, I know entirely what you mean! Excellent singers being dismissed as arrogant or ill-mannered. Maybe they were just testing the waters? Trying to develop a following?
I don't wanna be followed. And I've noticed that you have to listen and comment to certain others before they'll give you the time of day.
Does that mean bitterness? Does that mean that you aren't an okay singer? Not hardly.

I heard a song here today that I just couldn't get the nerve to comment on.....one of my "following". LOL

I've had a couple recent songs out that aren't that "bad". But am I whining that certain people aren't bowing at my feet? Hell no!! It's just the fairness thing I suppose.
We all know who is genuine. We all know who is arrogant. We all know who thrives for attention. And we all know who could care less!
Not out of spite, but out of realization!

Charmin, I think I'm in love with you. LMAO  LMAO

I always wanted one of the same year!

Unfortunately, I was also a Dodge man and bought a '97 Dodge Ram instead. :dontknow:
It's been cool though....never had a problem with it.....yet. LOL

I expected you to want an F-350 4x4 Dually or something?

Girl, you are down to earth!! LMAO

LMAO

F350 Dually's are cool, but they can't have as much fun as Broncos. I've always been a Bronco fanatic... I have one now, but sadly it's not a 78 or 79... it's kinda plain and ugly... though I do have PLANS for it;)

Since you mentioned it, here is one I did own for about 8 years. It's been dismantled now, the running gear, lift, engine, tranny and all put under a 1967 Ford F150. (the truck had a factory high boy, plus it's now got the lift under it) They've never taken the photos of the Bronco out of this old pictorial, I put them there probably 5 or 6 years ago. Heck, I don't even have the email any more that's listed there. Any-how... this Bronco caught looks everywhere I went in it. It was pretty cool.

(excuse the pic quality, it was an OLD digital camera)

WOW! Charmin, you are Da Woman!! LMAO

That Bronco is sweet!! Reminds me of Ted Nugent's zebra striped Bronco!

I'm into all of that customizing stuff too. I just spent too much on auto loans in the last few years. I could've bought an older truck for less and had waaaay more fun with it.

You're definitely my kinda woman!    LMAO

I've actually been wanting a Jeep Wrangler. I had wanted one for a long time, but always stuck with Broncos. We've owned about 6 Bronco's ranging from the `78 to a `86, and never had one that couldn't literally go anywhere with the right tires. (and those things can turn on a dime... better than any small car I've ever seen... I love how they park & flip a U on narrow roads)

But I have recently been looking at Jeeps again. I've almost bought about 4 of them over the last year or so, then backed out because of one thing or another. (price, not the right color, etc) But I'm thinking I'll have one by the end of the year atleast. I've never owned one, I may not like it once I get it... they're kinda tiny inside. But they look so dang cool if they're jacked up and have lots of extras. ( I can SO see me in one)  LMAO

When I come on board, the first thing I do is look for singers that visit me and take time to do that. Then I look for new singers and give a listen. Some times I'll listen twice to the same singer, but if they haven't made an effort to listen to what im putting down....hey forget it.Mutual respect....I still come back one more time, because things do happen. After that if they are still not giving me the same respect...im done for a while anyway....but I will eventually come back.smile.

You have people on here for different reason's.Some to sing and show they're talents, some to sing and interact etc.All that is good. But lets face it..... tit for tat and mutual respect is the name of that game.Sometimes I was so  busy in the past that I couldn't find time to reply, but what i would do was visit the person song that stop by and gave me a listen. That should say a lot,but some times it didn't to a few, but for the most part I always got  the same singers back to my songs, because they understood whats going on.Since i have been here I have had for the most part (with a few new folks here and there)the same wonderful singers visit my songs and its certainly not because we are a click......It's called mutual respect. As far as new singers that sing here and leave because no one is commenting on they're songs,Its because they are not visiting or commenting on other singers songs.....who in the hell do they think they are?If Celine Dion posted a song here under an alias and didn't visit other singers songs, she'd have a problem here too.Im sure with her professional attitude she would go visit some of her fellow singers songs to hear what they are putting down as well.If  you only go to good singers,so be it.I always start my listens with folks that took time to listen to me,then I go down the list looking for new singers and of course passing those that never visit me.I will visit that new singer a few more times, but if  they're still not visiting me .....to hell with it.We call those prima donas.Good riddence.Enjoy, sing and interact as much as you can and have fun.

Most people are just too busy...the site takes a lot of time. Learning songs and recording them takes time, listening to other people's songs, commenting on them, and commenting back on your own songs--all takes time. So some people don't do much but post their own songs and maybe listen but don't comment, and others pick and choose either certain types of songs, or only people they know, etc.  Me, personally, I had to stop coming here so much because there are only so many hours in the day. I'd rather spend time singing and learning songs than typing. I wish I could do all of the above, plus work and spend time with RL friends and family, but.....something has to give. I'm sure many people are in the same boat. I think only the retired or unemployed have time for all of that.  Or people that spend very little time on their own singing or recording.

That's just my two cents. It's a shame, I know. I wish I had a lot more time. And also I have learned that if you post a song but don't comment on other people's, you won't get too many yourself. I got ONE on the song I posted a week or so ago.

the only reason I am typing this now is I am about to leave someplace and go home, so I'm killing some time.
