Hello to all!
I am a older guy in Harrisburg PA who just got Sax N Dottys for his Dell Latitude D600 laptop 1.4ghz, 1.5gig ram etc. I know I need to get a faster cpu and am working on that as we speak. My question is there any place or one who has more operating info on Sax N Dottys than the help file that comes with the program?
It seems to work, but I cannot see a graphic screen and when I type a name in the search box it just sits there dead in the water.
Please help if you can.
Sincerely,
Warren
PS: I will send my phone # if you would call me in the USA and cna talk in the PM (est)
or weekends.

I have no idea why you think you need a faster system. That amount of processor and memory should be more than enough to run karaoke.
Sax and Dotty's is a terrible application to use as your benchmark for performance. There is something wrong with many installations of it, and the database is incredibly slow. Other karaoke apps such as CompuHost and MTU Hoster don't have that problem.
Recommend they spend the money on CompuHost, which will run just fine on a machine like that.

Thanks for the welcome! How is it in the windy city? I spent many years in the music business as a road manager with major acts. Now I'm just trying to do a good KJ thing. :dancin:

are you talking bout the sax and dottys hoster or the player?
I have no experience with the hoster but the player is powered by winamp and unless you have the plugins for winamp you wont have the graphics show.
you will also need the pacemaker plugin to transpose the key and change tempo as well

Chicago still has crazy weather. One day snow, the next 80 degrees and sunny. It's still in my opinion the best city in the US. Of course I've lived here my whole life. LOL
BTW - You will get a lot more answers to your questions in the tech forum. Only a few of us scan the "newbie forum" to say hello. I think you will be pleasantly surprised how friendly they are over there.
