Obviously I have met Ericlater, and in Orlando I met Lito. I am liiking forward to meeting MJKY and maybe more.

Is anyone in the Richmond, VA or Lynchburg, VA areas? I will be there the week of 5/25-5/29. Must be family friendly as I have our 4 year old with us...

In New England ?   Does Saskwatch sub here ?  Heck around here there'd be no place to go sing assuming I did meet somebody.  I'm pretty much done with bars anyway, never met anyone from here..  Noones missing anything, yet most already know that.. Take a keyboard away from my fingers and I have 0 personality, nothing to say, and just sleep and brood.

Like Kappy says, there's not anyone from this forum in "our" part of the U.S. of A.
So, haven't been able to "hook" with anyone...yet. HEY KAPPY....if your in the "New England" area, that means we're no more than probably 2 hrs apart, So.....COME ON DOWN...( or up or over) and check out BAHSTUN area. (that's Boston) for those who don't understand the accent) :handshake:

Donny,  Yep, I guess I'm about 2.5 hours.  (Farmington CT).. Outside Hartford.

We've got some of the accent here too... Meaning -some folks can tell I'm not far from where you are :)  Never had that when I was growing up (Westport CT), but when we moved to North Central CT, I picked it right up.  I guess as soon as a person approaches the foothills of the Berkshires, they start speaking Bostonian !  HEHE..

Look at the bright side,  It's not Long Island,  Philly, or Brooklyn speak !

I have met (Kurt) "Swingcat" several times. Wichita Pub, Grand Cafe, Pink Feather, Kays Bar and his very first live band appearance at (cant remember the name of the place) in Beaverton.

I have spoken with "Odie" and "Lonman" on the phone but never had the pleasure of meeting them yet. And figure I will be meeting "Mandylynn" sometime soon.

I met (Matt) "Knightshow" before I belonged to this forum at the Canton Grill, years ago. Although he probably does not remember it. I was attempting to get to his Queen of Hearts gig and then he moved to Kansas City and I couldn't.

Met Karen and her husband Joe a while back at their Monday night gig. Great venue... bar included darts, pool, decent food menu, dance floor, lots of tables.

Nice sound system for being portable including sub-woofer. Loudness just right -- slightly below where it would be hard to have a conversation. Great song selection.

Very nice people!

Lon, you're too kind! I'm actually a very quiet person. I sing more at one karaoke show than I talk all week! Singing is on of my outlets, along with hiking -- see avatar  LOL

You're a great singer 'man! (check out his sub's on Singers Showcase)
:)   I've posted on SS the 4 recordings you made of me that night. Thanks!

A bit about Lonman's gig:

Largish for a bar with a number of dart boards. Didn't notice any pool tables.  3  15" speakers mounted on the walls, large subwoofer right beside the dance floor. For the singer, there's a small stage about 8" off the floor, big enough for 2 singers with their "normal" personal space, with 2 floor monitors and a screen near eye level. Stage lighting (several cans on the ceiling, no glare). KJ station is right next to the stage, but at floor level.

The mobile KJs would have a hard time matching your system, my friend. Very nice setup. I really liked what you did with the sound effects -- "just right" (not overpowering) and optional recording for singers. Wow. You really out-class that joint. People really have a good time there!

Curious... do the railings around the stage cut down on Karaoke Klingons from "helping" the singer?

Thanks much, glad you enjoyed, hope to see you back another time.   All the dart boards on one half of the room, the other half is karaoke deidicated.  They won't put pool tables in, they used to have years ago & got rid of them because they always seemed to be the root of some kind of altercation.
Yes the rail around the stage cuts down alot of the 'joiners' - although they sometimes still slip on up.

I'll definitely be visiting again. I may have a girlfriend by then so I won't be sitting there by myself! I finally met a woman since moving to PNW...

And of course, Karen and Joe are welcome to carpool!  :)
