Ugh.... I made it until sometime around 6'ish... then I crashed. LMAO I do recall it breaking daylight a bit before I fell asleep. Luckily, I woke up around 8 and still made it there in time. Don't know how/what woke me up, but I'm glad it did... I could have easily slept till 10 or 11.
My mom's b-day is this week: I got all my sisters & my brother & nieces, nephews (heck, a bunch of us) together to meet up at my mom's place with food and yard tools.... we did all her flower beds (her place is 5 acres and VERY landscaped). We just showed and surprised her, she's been busy lately and has had neck/back issues from a recent car accident and hasn't been able to do much out in her yard. And she really does usually keep a gorgeous yard. Anyhow- if they would have all shown, and me not have been there on time.... Lordie, they'd have tanned my hide;) That's why I was trying to just stay awake. If I wouldn't have cozied up with a book to pass time, I never would have drifted off to sleep. I'm pretty sleepy now though, I'll hit the hay a bit earlier tonight I think.

I was wondering if Charmin got to her Mom's place OK on Sunday! She sounded great at karaoke on Saturday! Charmin is such a sincere and genuine country/bluegrass talent. The real deal!! :)

As an elder, counselor, shepherd and one that tries to give advice to others I might have responded to this thread in a more than radical manner. With first hand experience and a general knowledge of life I know how the average male goes through menopause now. It is exacerbated by this society more and more. Keith I did not intentionally attack your personal character but I do understand. Call it tuff love. Our bond by naval experiences is eternal. Now who is buying the next round?

Keith, I know awhile back you mentioned Sweetwater was quite knowledgable, and you seemed to like them.. I'm thinking of placing an order and since they have free S&H on smaller items I need, I wished to combine orders and give them the overall business, (rather than just take advantage of their free S&H while giving MF a more significant order -considering I don't like MF).
Do you think Sweetwater is worthy of Kappy's business ? LOL
I've never dealt with them before. One of the few larger mail order companies I know little about, (actually them and Zzounds)

This is like a broken record !
Why not start by taking heed to your OWN alleged sage Ollie ? There's a difference between the giving of "welcomed advice" and "impinging" oneself. This is ONGOING.
Learn something from your own repeated doings ! If you're too old *a man* to learn from *your* repeated mistakes, you're too old *a man* to be giving advice to those that are still learning as you needed to learn. Learn when NOT to offer an opinion, it shouldn't be too late for that. Rather than make excuses repeatedly trying to vindicate this ongoing aggressive behaviour, admit wrongdoing and OWN it !
I can respect the fact that Vicki and Keith dislike one-another, that's between them, and unless I'm involved in it, I stay OUT OF IT, but don't align yourself with one friend against another. Because -whether you can see it or not, that's just what ended up happening.
I've PM'd and Emailed you regarding impulsive posts. Sometimes just take a deep breath, wait, sleep on it- Don't post at the rate (you post) attacking those you claim "are friends". Additionally, If you can't take THIS as constructive "hard-knocks" / "Tough Love" advice (without taking a defensive posture), you seriously have no right giving anybody advice in here !

Oh my garsh ! You make me sound like hewoman. LMAO I am actually very girlie.
I have to admit though guys know how to have fun. I grew up with 3 older brothers and decided there is no reason I can't have fun doing the things they do. If most women had a choice they'd rather being doing what guys are doing.
For ex: Traditionally
Parties - lets see would I rather cook and serve all night or be downstairs shooting pool, playing darts, video games and ping pong?
Girls get bridal showers while men get bachlor parties.
Sew and knit or play softball, basketball etc...
Drive your own motorcycle or get stuck on the back on the crappy seat.
Play golf or get stuck at home with the kids, and the house work
Going to work all day then coming home to make dinner or coming home from work and sitting on my (@$%!) while being served.
Things are changing thank goodness. There is no reason why woman and men can't share in the fun and the work.

A suppose my point is, this is what I find so bizarre about Western "Gender typing" which was rampant when I was growing up., and such stereotyping, and gender-biased characterizations still fly around ALL the time. MANY females I know have little fear of things many males won't dare do.
ie.. A boy does this..
A girl does this...
I HATED that stuff... Meaning, the media would never show "John Wayne" shivering after being scared xitless because he see's a spider, mouse, etc.. It wasn't fair to you females, and it made things tough for we males that are in fact scared xitless to do MOST of what you like doing.
(I forgot to mention you play the tuba)
(Actually I got a sweet offer assuming I'd switch from string instruments to brass, but despite the professor's Julliard School credentials in Tuba, Euphonium, and Baritone- I just didn't like the register of the brasswinds in that class, although baritone could've been gorgeous I suppose. Reason this stuff happened was I hated being seated in the front wedged in, and wanted to be relocated to an orchestral seat where I could be closer to a door, or stage-wing. Turns out I ended up playing bass-viol.
I suppose boys and girls suffer from certain culturally imposed restrictions that were more strictly believed and adhered to 1/2 century ago. I never knew of a male to babysit while mom worked... Things were too sexist for that to be admitted to in the 1960's in the NorthEast metro area.. (not sure about other locations)
