2 programs out there will work with MOST dvd burners (cdg compatible or not) both read & write - MTU Microstudio (ok & Hoster) & Powerkaraoke power cdg burner.

It may be that the un-install for the LG removed your .cda (CD Audio) file types from Windows. On Windows 2000 if you open Windows Explorer and click on View->Folder Options you will see under the File Types tab a list of all the files that windows currently knows about. Find either CDA in the extension field or CD Audio Track under File Types. If you don't have it then it got deleted. The dialog that comes up when you double click that file types is what tells Windows what to do with it.

Ed: Do I open internet explorer like I'm going to go on the internet. Then at the top click view? I tried that, if that is the way, and I saw Explorer bar, folders, but no view options or tabs. I must be doing something wrong
Thank you
Gayle

Not Internet Explorer it is Windows Explorer. Right click on the Start button on the lower left and click "Explore"

You may just want to try to re-install Windows Media Player. It won't hurt anything and will put back all your audio file types in case they were removed.

evocals:
I will try the window media player reload and see what happens. Ive thought about reloading windows 2000 again because I reloaded it 2 other times and now its (I believe) loaded three times on the computer. The reason I think its on there three times is because when I boot up the computer, I can chose from three windows 2000 on the screen. I dont know how to explain it better then that, but I know I didnt totally clean out the old windows operating system before. I still have lots to learn about computers. Heck the other day, I opened the tower up. Took the cables off the mother board took both cd roms off and then the mother board. I was scared I wouldnt get it all back correctly but I did That's a good way to learn whats going on in that box.. haha I did it because someone built the computer for me and I wanted to know what type of cd roms were in there and motherboards. I took pictures of them all.
Thank you
Gayle

no, that's an XP thing.
I do agree that you should probably do a full reinstall...

I did a full reinstall and the drivers are both working good. Im having trouble getting Karafun to reload. I think I might need some windows updates maybe. I downloaded the pykaraoke .. With this programs, do you have to download your karaoke music to the hard drive? If so, do I use Audocity?
Thank you everyone for all your advise
