If they want to give up on us, I'm more than willing to give up on them and give my money to overseas karaoke manus!

The whole SC board disappearance thing, and the way that it happened, to me rings of an abrupt decision by someone high up the ladder, and may not reflect the philosophy of all SC employees.  I can understand SC changing the nature of the board--maybe adding to or eliminating some of the forums, but completely doing away with a good communication tool with the customer seems strange.  Hopefully their customer service will be augmented in some other way.  The customer needs to be heard!

Their Production Manager usually posts there once a week, or when something newsworthy happens. I'll be openminded enough to say that it's really, REALLY weird for them to just sever all online ties like that.

I bet something came up with the copying onto proprietary hardware that Mr. Slep was working on with the overseas thing. THere was a link on here recently where there was some activity in the last year about that... unsure where the link is now. Anyway, I'm betting it was a bust!

I can care less about a sc forum. HonestltI didn't know they have one.

I'm happy to see they are starting to put out more disc in 2008 than they did 2007.

I have purchased every spotlight disc from the day I started karaoke. Right around 8500. Can't wait for the new ones. When is that 9002 disc coming out? I waiting for Cemetary Gates and Unsung.

Who wants to post song requests when they do nothing about it to fulfill?

Yeah tell that to the people that drop your mics accidently & you call the cops on them.  Guess forgiveness only goes along way as long as YOU do not have to do it.

I got tired of waiting for it, so I ordered "Electric Eye" seperately from their custom disc site.  It cost me 4 or 5 bucks, and the Spotlight disc is only going to be $17.99 when it comes out, but I just HAD to have that tune!  It's a great sounding track... you can click on my "Showcase" link to hear it.

I checked for you, but unfortunately neither of the tunes you are looking for is available on their custom disc site.

It's too bad they got rid of the forums.  I posted a request for a song that had been out about 6 months to a year and was probably losing it's popularity, but I thought it would be a fun song to sing karaoke to.  Some months later I saw it made it to a new disc.  I thought that was pretty cool.   :oh yeah:

Well Bye bye to the Soundchoice Boards!! I was a regular there and would of appreciated an announcement , just so I got proper info down from the regulars I would  respond to in there.  THANKS FOR THE WARNING!  Also thanks for teasing s with the Headbanger's Hits - Vol. 15  that has been sitting on your site since February without a release date!!!

Oh well

I admit I use to use their boards for different reasons as well. I would keep a close eye to the songs people want and message them when another manufacturer would release  something another person wanted.

I will say SBI has been SUPER effective on getting peoples wants out!!! The Shocker with me was when they released Alice Cooper's Man of the year from his 2004 Album "The eyes of Alice Cooper" I had to double check to make sure I was reading it correctly.

Sunfly has surprised me lately with some of the stuff they put out and now I can finally say....SUNFLY your version of Soundgarden's "Blackhole Sun" has ALOT more power behind it like the orginal version.  The Soundchoice version is weak and lame.  Sure Soundchoice is tops on most versions but sometimes they don't get it right.

I believe in time Sunfly has improved in the last 2 years.

I was on the SC soundboards for 2.5 years as hurricaneyears aka tim10cc...aka Tim...I will have to say 2.5 years and only 2 request I wanted to see out were granted.   I still don't believe they listened to their customers like others believed they did.

I requested about I would say 25 songs to www.sbikaraoke.com and I would say so far about 12 of them came back!!!

I requested the same to Zoom, Sunfly and STTW and slowly some of them have come back but at least that more satisfaction than I ever got out of SC!!  I feel if you stay on your game, buy their products, sometimes they will come around!

Oh well...my question now is where does one go to request songs ??? or do you just do what I do and email the manufacturers on your own.

Speaking of that ...

I would like to email Easy Karaoke & TOPTUNES if anyone has their information available.

Anyways I am glad some of the people from the SC board are over here as well!!!

Tim

I agree SC has had some pretty cool disc and the quality is great.  I think it would of been nice to put an announcement up on the board stating a shut down date. The way SC did it was kind of cold.

And yes I just wanted to get that off my chest.

I have seen Disc # SC8272 go on ebay for 50++ bucks just for the Soundgarden Blackhole sun and lucky for us our Karaoke bar has it, when I heart it I was really surprised because it lacked the power that the original version had.  I think it was last year Blackhole sun showed up on a SUNFLY mosted wanted disc and man they did it right!!!  I really didn't wanna dam the SC8272 on the SC boards and I had to get it out of my system.

The truth is though, alot of people put hope in their request on their message board and what I got out of that is, we don't wanna hear it anymore! So SC shut it down.

I will never have faith in SC granting any request that I have wanted in the past but you never know.  I put my faith to the overseas manufacturers!

Tim
