Hi,

I have winamp on my pc and to make life easier i want to keep my pc monitor for my karaoke control, and add a tv which is all connected fine on my vga card outputs but i want to create dual lyrics / graphics windows so 1 can display on my monitor the words of the mp3+g track being currently played and to display the words on my tv to at the same time.

my pc monitor is connected fine and all working dandy with the winamp and single graphics window displaying the track words, but my tv is only showing the windows xp backdrop, is there a plug-in i need to add to my system or extra software to enable me to have the track lyrics dispayed on both pc monitor and tv at the same time, ie to get multiple lyrics displays, as i can move the single standard lyrics display from pc to monitor but just need to mimic it so 1 for my control the other for the tv display.

I'm sure ive tried to make this sound straight forward and clear,

can anyone advise and help,
cheers Ian

you need to go into you contraols for your video card and make your card duplicate the image on each monitor not spread the image over two monitors. I am guessing that you can move your mouse between both screen right now correct? If not then you need to activate your second display in display settings.

I want to disagree with the above post.

OK, winamp is a great app. Stick with it.

Download the MP3+G / CDG plugin which will allow you to play the lyrics.

In your Winamp/Plugins folder, copy and paste the .dll file so you have 2 copies.

You can now have one whatever size you want on your PC screen, and maximise the other on your TV.

this was talked about on another thread, and I can't get that to happen for me. Only way I ever could was to download another ENTIRE cdg .dll (totally different name, done by different programmer)... but I had sync issues with it, so I gave up on it.

These are the ones in my winamp directory... I tried renaming the gen_cdg.dll to the _2 one as previously instructed, and the plug-ins options SHOWS both of them, but it won't pull the second one up.

what version are you using? I have an older 2.8 version and operate on both win2k and winxp pro.

I windows explorer open the winamp/plugins folder copy the gen_cdg.dll. paste it into another folder and rename it then move back into the plugins folder. 2 plugins should show up in winamp prefs/general purpose. play a track and drag one screen for main size and position. do the same with the other screen right click on both and tick always on top. With everything setup go into the winanp folder props and tick read only. You will have to untick this if you make any changes in winamp.

nope, I tried deleting the secondary .dll, copying the first one, putting that in another folder, renaming it, and putting that back in the plugins folder. When I double click a mp3g file, I get one cdg screen. both dll files (gen_cdg.dll and the other one.) When I originally start it, it ACTS like it's starting two, but only one happens.

I am not sure about ver 2.8, but I do know for a fact it will work with ver 2.95 and above. (I have always been told that ver 2.95 was the most stable of all but ver 5.11 seems to be rock solid stable as well, and avoid ver. 3.0)

Here are a couple of places you can get older versions of Winamp.
