Agreed, when I do go out singing I prefer More than Less when it comes to effects...NOT saying I need echoechoechoecho city ,,just prefer more than less when it comes to effects on vocals. A PERFECT BALANCE WOULD BE A WISH

There is such a thing as too much effects! The best is always a good balance. A sound man with a good ear can provide excellent, balanced effects with little effort. I have heard people who think they need to really crank up the effects. Usually, they would have sounded much better with a good balance. On the other hand, I never like to hear dry vocals either. I use aviom in ear monitors with my band and I always have a little effects mixed with my vocals because it makes me feel like I am not having to work so hard to sing, but that may just be me!--Mike

As a KJ - I'd like a heavy drinking crowd that didn't get drunk.

An effect of some sort will always be given to everyone. And some songs do require more effect than others - like Led Zep tunes. But a less than average singer (which usually seems to be the case for these songs) can actually sound worse if the effect is up strong. There is a point to know when to turn it up & when not to. But yes everyone gets a reverb & a sync'd delay, never a dry mic. Typically I run my effect just like I did when running sound in bands. You do not really WANT to hear the effect (again, unless the song really calls for it), but you'd definitely know if it wasn't there. If you want more, you can always ask & I will turn it up in your monitor.
