Here's another example of a PR disaster of following "rules". I'll guantee no cop firefighter, health professional, or person with cancer or their families will ever frequent this restaurant.

OK----Let's play the "KJ CHALLENGE" game with Gem.

Everyone post up your most favorite song/disc you like to bring with you to karaoke and we'll see if Gem has it or not.

GEM we will need you to post up on your website your complete songbook list so we can browse through it to see JUST HOW LARGE your selection is.

If you got my favorite song----I will send you a money order for $5.00 to buy yourself a drink.
If you DONT HAVE THE SONG then YOU SEND ME A $5.00 money order AND you CHANGE THE NO BRING DISC RULE AT YOUR SHOW!!! :D :D :D

Also you will need to take a pic of yourself holding that disc up for proof of you having the song/disc.

Ill go first:

The song is "KULO", Artist: PITBULL, Disc: MULTI-KARAOKE 178, Reggaeton Vol. 2,
OKE-178

So you provide me with PROOF that you have THIS in your selection and I WILL SEND YOU $5.00 to buy yourself a shot of your choice.
AND I FURTHER AGREE TO STOP HAMMERING YOU ON THAT RULE!!

SO MR. GEM ARE YOU UP TO THE CHALLENGE???

LOL. Yeah like he would EVER post his selection online for the world to see, another no no for "GK". People might actually see he don't really have all that much in the way of songs that people actually want. I could be proved wrong though & would state a formal apology online for everyone to see & quit ALL digs at him if he did post it up.
But I am betting you will keep your $5, he wouldn't ever even attempt to send you a $5 because he will never post his book on his website!!!!! :o

That's some pretty unreasonble conditions you're putting up there Gemini. But I'd be willing to take up your challenge as long as if I attend your show and you don't have the songs AND the same versions as the songs on my disc then you would pay for my round-trip airfare between my home and your gig, and all other expenses incurred in the trip.

Gem,
Here's a list of songs I do regularly and I guarentee you have none of them
Paul Anka - Jump, Wonderwall and Smells Like Teen Spirit
Violent Femmes - Held Her In My Arms
Butt Trumpet - You're Ugly
Big Daddy - My Heart Will Go On.
They're just the American artists you may have heard of. Don't get me started on the British artists.

I bring
New Orleans Is Sinking - Tragically Hip
Roller - April Wine
I Like To Rock - April Wine
Bat Dance - Prince (JVC version)

You show me any of these, holding a picture of the disc & I will NEVER belittle you or your no disc policy because you truly have everything.

And I very much doubt he has the Newfoundland karaoke discs, or by that token the Gamesmen, Sing King, or Karaokemakeer discs.

I can't believe this stuff I am reading. GM, yer an idjit. First off, I could give a rats arse about your rules. You are nothing but a little Napolean who has a second rate show. If I put out flyers about my DJ shows using the grammar (or lack thereof), I would be laughed out of business. I have to visit a niece out your way during the summer and we will see how good it is. I think you must have had a bad experience with some drunk person (maybe your father), I don't know. There are those here who now how to handle drunks, be they just unstable on their feet or trouble makers, without draconian rules and your "I said so" attitude. A simple arm about the shoulder and a kind word handles most problems. As far as people accidentally breaking or dropping mikes, that is what insurance is for...you do have insurance, don't you? C'mon, calling people who may drop a mic on accident an idiot or stupid and careless is wrong. You never dropped an item, or dropped a glass doing the dishes? My word, you must be the second coming of Christ...I drop to my knees in your presence. About your non-tipping, getting tips at DJ or Karaoke shows, I think is rare. I would accept them and humbly thank the giver. Waitresses and waiters get tips because the wage in most restaurants is below minimum wage. They are providing a service which we as customers should pay. You can go on all you want about them getting better paying jobs, but in my experience, they love food service and serving people. It is the accepted custom to tip the waitstaff, do it! Of course you probably think Quisnos is a fine dining establishment. Don't you tip the bartender at your shows for serving you your soda or whatever you have? They must really have nice thoughts about you. Well enough of this rant, I may get banned for being harsh, oh well.....I am The Mighty Lord Airgtar, and I have spoken; and as it is spoken, so shall it be

I'd take Gemini up on his challenge any day of the week...

Robbie Williams - Ghosts

Go on, take a look in your book for that one...

Also Gem, if you come back and say "Those are really rare tracks, how am I expected to have them?" - this only serves as to show why people bring their own disks.

Also, I tend to sing the song I listed probably once a fortnight - I know 3 KJs who have it locally, all have it as a result of me bringing my disk along - and then rectifying the situation so that I wouldn't need it.

How about a few Neil Diamond songs:

Memphis Flyer
Angel
Rainy Day Song
Brother Love's Travelling Salvation Show (the 'Love at the Greek' live version)
Mothers and Daughters, Fathers and Sons

Just these few alone would sure enough guarantee GM wouldn't accept my response to his conditions of the challenge. But then the only reason he's added his conditions is because he can't play by somebody else's rules, even though he expects everyone else to abide by his.

God loves you GM. I know, because someone once told me God loves a hypocrite!
