OK. This is a hard one. I had a WinXP based laptop and it's slow but usable. I used it to do both Karaoke and DJ as a portable system. It worked fine. I had a Indigo sound card in it and at the last gig, it stopped working for me. It wasn't a problem because I wasn't running a DJ software, just MTU Hoster so I just plugged it in to the built in sound and it ran fine. Also, I keep all my music on a external USB/Firewire drive.
Now I am thinking that I need to change my setup. I have a MacBook Pro I want to use. It's fast and has a not of memory (3GB). I am going to install Windows using Parallels so I can run MTU Hoster. I am probably going to use my DJ software (VirtualDJ) under Mac since they make both PC and Mac version.
So, here is the question. I need to find an external USB based sound card. I need to make sure it works with MacBook Pro, under windows XP for MTU (I think this should be easy) but also needs to work with VirtualDJ. This means it needs two channel stereo output, one line and one headphone. It needs to be able to switch between when I switch from one music to another with a fader automatically.
Now, has anyone seen anything that may work in this configuration? Thanks in advance.

I have heard (not confirmed) that Hoster will not run properly on the Mac even with the Windows platform. Put in a question to Hoster now. Will relay any answers if you aren't a member over there already.

Well it seems no one over there is being very responsive, but from what I have found is Apple is not dual display capable for the extended desktop Hoster would need.
Am curious now if you get it running, report back.

Well, I will let you know when I get to this. It will not be for a bit since my schedule is full. I am going to get a copy of WinXP first and get the laptop working first before I do anything.
