Hi everyone!

My wife and I have been singing karaoke for a few years, and absolutely love it! I'm interested in getting some tips as well as learning about the whole karaoke scene in general. We're toying with the idea of opening our own karaoke bar, and would love any advice.

Thanks!

Hi, welcome! We can always use more deidicated karaoke gigs, at least as singers. As a host, I don't know how people will feel.

In any case, I recommend that you travel to a couple of dedicated karaoke bars before you think of doing it. Singers in Syracuse, Wanna Bs in Virginia Beach, Klub Karaoke in Buffalo are three I know. It would be well worth your while to take a trip and visit all three of those and see what they do right. Personally, my favorite is Wanna B's, though if you could do a Klub Karaoke it would be great. (Not sure if that is practical for most.)

Spend a couple thousand investigating it, it will save you many more thousand in the long run. Learn the mistakes they made and avoid them.
