The drive (NEC) on my Dell XPS will rip new discs fine, but if I have a tiny scratch (all my older discs) it scrambles the lyrics. I'm using Compuhosts CDG Ripper and they recommend the plextor PX-716. I've spoken with some resellers and they say this drive is in extreme demand for reasons that have nothing to do with karaoke. He says if I found one I'd pay to much for what I want to use it for. Are there any other, more available and comparable models out there?
-thanks

Buy Power CDG ripper from PowerKaraoke. It will do the ripping with great error correction on most any drive, I think.
You can PM the powerkaraoke user on this system and he will tell you if that is true for sure. But I think it is. The software is only $39.00.
