I was just replying to all the comments on the latest song I subbed "Sleep With Me Tonight". After completing all the replies, I check my profile to make sure there were no new comments on other songs and saw there is still "1 New" showing under the latest one. I checked I had not missed any comments and when I confirmed this, I then counted the comments.

I count ten comments, yet the tally tells me there's eleven. I guess this is the reason for there being an un-replied comment.

But where is this ghost?

I have this happen on my songs once in a while, too. I supposed it means someone has commented on your song but it didn't show up. I have no idea where it is, but the "New" message usually goes away in a couple days or when the song moves down the list.

hey guys...what it seems to be attributed to is folk that maybe listen then get caught up doing something...go back some time later to comment and the site has logged them out.
We have all been there ourselves...taking a few listens, life intrudes and we are afk for some time. By the time we return to the page and make our comment we have been logged out. There is a way to tell if that has happened...if you make a comment pressing submit takes you straight back to the front page instead of to that person's profile page, then you have been logged out and that person will receive a ghost comment.

It doesn't always go away Connie, I've had a ghost comment on one of my subs (My Kinda Lover) over 2 years now

Getting back to the ghost comment thingy... I got a nice, bright yellow "1 new" On my profile as we speak but my experience has been that eventually it disappears & all comments are then accounted for.
Actually the real reason I'm here is to say Yippe Yi Yay, I am now allowed into the singer's forum... where do I begin, there are so many threads
I also wanna thank Jian again for his quick response to my question, now I know who to come to to get things done in a timely fashion! Vicki was also quick to help me out and jump hoops for me if she had to What a friendly, funny group of people here at the forum & I'm delighted to be a part of it all!

The thing is, I have been so darn lazy lately to investigate how to go bout how things work here... between working, housework, recording songs, as well as this heat, I'm freakin' exhausted I just recently got permission from the big boys to join the singer's forum & that's a huge milestone for me since I've been part of the whole forum thing I promise you, 1 night when I feel Up to it, I will go to the forum store & pick out something real pretty to wear... hope they have my size & color

Yea isn't it cool! Steven went shopping with me & helped me pick it out! Cost me a few (points) but well worth it! Thanks again Cathi... I still have points left over for my next shopping spree whenever that may be

I noticed that when the new comments came up- it was because someone left a comment- I responded- then they edited their original comment. It goes away after awhile- but I think it's to let you know to take a second look at your original comments( the total number of comments stays the same in this case) Anyway- it is pretty confusing
