Several problems. How do I change user account settings on vista?
Also how do I import files? I am having constant errors.
This was all setup previously by sax and dotty but we had to get a new laptop last minute and now there are SIX HOURS UNTIL OUR SHOW!!!!
Please any sax n dotty 3.0 experts , I NEED YOU DESPERATELY!!!!

Is it even Vista compatible to begin with? I know some of the kj programs don't work properly.

without much experience with vista I am making guesses out of your needs and under the gun. On the RoxBox forum we have solved some problems with vista. I did use SnD for about a year but that was 2 or 3 years ago.
Log in as admin. Make a restore point Download this zipfile There are 3 files you need and I'm not sure they will work with vista. Maybe first go to the microsoft site and search jet mdac and vbrun for vista These are 3 files that linux needs to run Rox or you get search or database errors, perhaps so with vista. Pardon my incongruity with thoughts but Im doing some initial analyzing. In search see if you have a mfc42.dll in the system32 folder in the windows folder. If that vista does not have SP1 installed DO NOT INSTALL IT!!!! Last question does winamp work on that OS and you can use playlists with it?
If you want I will give you my phone number and will give you what support I can with my limited knowledge of vista...

I had my XP laptop crash one hour before the party, and I borrowed a Vista laptop, downloaded Sax & Dottie 3.0 and the rest of the files and it all worked fine..
The Video Settings on the desktop was annoying, but I made it through the night..
So for me, it worked.. but it was not my laptop.. (Yes, 15 day demo)

If you have made ANY changes or additions to your externals, you have to redo your database uploads..or you will get errors. You must load each hard drive separately. (you probably know that)
Within the program, click tools, database, clear database. To clear any previous database ..
Then tools, database, import. This takes a while...but must be done each time you add new songs or make changes.. If I remember correctly your different externals should each have a name. Like Karaoke I, Karaoke II, DJ music, etc.
I use version 2.1.42, but my guess would be the database import would be the same..
S & D is pretty good about answering questions as well.. Probably too late, but hope info is of some use.

Here is one of the reasons I have kept Vista away from my karaoke setups. Don't get me wrong - I love Vista, it's a great OS and does it's job well...
But there are niggles. Compuhost doesn't act 100% as it should - that said, this is down to Compuhost.

I've never had problems with S&D and Vista. Vista itself, yeah, but not the two combined.

Right click on the desktop SnD icon. slect properties. Click the compatability tab.
On the bottom check the box run this program as administrator.
I,m not sure about vista but there might be another box for compatability.. select XP

I'm not sure about Siglos but Sax N Dotty is licensed to the computer and can't be moved (or traded) to another computer and besides if what you are asking is what it reads to be, it appears you are asking someone else to join you in the commission of software piracy!

I've had nothing but problems with the computers I've loaded karaoke software on that run Vista. I've tried them all. RoxBox, S&D, Compuhost, ALL the different Tricerasoft proggies, CAVs, etc, etc, etc... They all seem to work screwy at best under Vista. I know my personal choice (Karaoke Go Round) is in the process of a re-write to work under Vista but it's been slow coming. Mostly because no two Vista machines seem to run it the same way.

I've been running Compuhost since February on a vista laptop without any glitches at all. The only thing I hate about Vista is the time it takes to shut down. When you're tight on time leaving the place, You don't need the laptop taking a lot of time to shut down. Must admit that it blows XP away in loading up when you turn it on.
