Hello to all that stated they had crashing problems while installing or operating "Karma" this is a quote to me from the Latshaw support team:
"Karma is designed and tested in a Vista only environment so it's surely not a Vista issue. No one has reported installation problems so we can't exactly diagnose what it is."
I am not running Vista as I stated earlier and I too have experienced "zero" nasty problems. Since I have been testing Karma and comparing it with other winamp based software the one thing that is definately far better is the key changer. Improvements are still happening daily. And who knows maybe one of your favorite KJ software improvement requests (that everyone else has ignored) may actually be incorporated.
As Stogie said earlier:
One more thing. Despite the fact that many people don't like Vista, nearly all new PCs are being sold with Vista, millions of them each year. If the program works well with Vista and with XP he will be in a far better position than if it just works with XP. Over the next two years XP will wane and Vista, despite it's initial problems, will take over because it's the primary choice available to most users. Vista compatibility is really important and I would be willing to wager that software that is compatible with Vista will run great on the next operating system that MS comes out with after Vista.

I downloaded the demo and tried to install but it crashed. I am actively looking for a new karaoke player and would like to hear the improvements with this one. I have tried Karafun and compuhost and I am now trying hoster. If only Vista is supported I will have to wait until I get a Vista machine to try it on.

My Vista machine is built with a speedy dual core processor, 3 gb ram, 500gb hard drives. If was basically built for multimedia/music, it crashed on me 3 times trying to point to the dj folder - even gave the benefit of the doubt, uninstalled/reinstalled & rebooted, same results. I'm sorry, not impressed! Not going to dive further into testing a product that should have been tested privately first!

Ed,
depends on what you're looking for in a karaoke player. There are some that do the rotation, some that don't. Some that have dual player capabilities, some that don't.
I personally like clubdjpro (version 2 is what I have) for the dual player, and having video capabilites. I LIKE not having the rotation, but I do see where others have it and like it, even need it.

I still have 2 cd's with the Win 2k Pro and sp4. If I had to choose between this and Vista I would go back to Win 2k Pro. As stated in a above post I will be shifting to a Unix based OS. They are free all the software is free and all are open ended that is there are many updating and improving them on a daily basis.
Virus? Whats that?

I tested and tried the Karma software. But without a 30 day full functional trial I'm not paying $150 for it. I need to run a few shows and see if it will suit my needs.
I think its a good concept as I will not use one of the winamp based hosting add ons.

Yeah, 30 day full trials would be nice. I tried another sofware tool which is also a significant amount of money, but I can't update the library and setup the songs the way I want to in the trial version. Huge bummer...

I can't believe all the free advertising that the new karma software is getting in this thread. Certainly Mrmarog is part of the development team or his very first post on this forum would not have been to exclaim the wonderfulness this software.
The installation problems aside, I don't see anything new and wonderful about this program with the exception of the CDG timing adjustment. Is it really worth further comment?
