Hello, I bought an Eurorack UB802 mixer and have got poor results when I have tried to setup for Karaoke; this is the first mixer I got, before that I only had to deal with standard RCA connections between the different components and 1/4" conections for my MICs. I haven't deal with impedances/balanced-unbalanced inputs, etc. I am sure I am missing a lot of stuff and using the mixer at 20% of its real capacity.

I have my DVD player conected to a Sony amplifier using standard RCA conections (red/white), I have conected the amplifier to the mixer using standard RCA conections as well to the "Tape Input" in the mixer, I have conected the MICs to the MIC inputs using the 1/4". I don't know if the microphones are balanced or not... (they are cheap if that can provide a clue..)

Am I missing something? Is there any way to conect the output from my amplifier to the 1/4" stereo line inputs without frying my amplifier or the mixer? using the "Tape Input" connection gives little control in the overal mix.

Thanks for your help! (believe me I am not as dumb as it seems!) :?

No you are not dumb: you just need to read a bit more. There is a thread about mixing on this page. have a look at it and go to the link and read.

Larce, connect your player into the line-in of mixer and then your mixer using your line out into your amp.
