Hey Knightshow I agree with what you have said except for the fact
that brucefan4life is a newbie. He has been on here since 2005 and only
15 posts. Hmm maybe this is what Phill was talking about in another
section of the board.

Quote: i everybody, i have a big question. is there a way to put something on your cdg files when you're displaying the track name of a song? like adding an e-mail or logo? Thanks. Very Happy
If I understand the question right it pertains to the beginning of of the song or end. Six years ago I was putting slides behind the graphics with Cavs SP player.I have put karaoke Mp3's in things like Sonar and deleted or added to the beginning or end. I have done this to compensate for a delay in either the mp3 or graphics. The mp3. starts the cdg and the only synchronization I can detect is the start of the cdg at the same time the mp3 starts. I do not believe there is a clock pulse . If you dont believe me add another cdg file and rename it to the same name as the mp3. It is synced but with the wrong graphics. That is why the sync as far as karaoke would not hold up in court. If I kicked you in the (@$%!) at a precise moment would you be in sync with society? Each word is not synced with the music.......This is done with timing....
Yes I could tell you how to add a logo or slide at the beginning.. A background with the same color as the graphics would eliminate them. HMMM...It is not rocket science.

I made the newbie comment based on the 15 posts, and I honestly didn't see the date joined.
From his posting history, he's mostly posted over at Singers Showcase...
at any rate, the idea's been put forth from me to have this guy prove that he's no troll, and can backup what he has claimed. Hey, I learned something new the other day about windows shortcuts... I never claimed to be a know-it-all!

Just keep believing that it's impossible, Matt. I don't have to prove anything. I know I can do it and after your bad attitude, I'm not about to tell you how.

I have an deal for YOU, Matt. If I can provide proof of what I'm saying , you have to buy me a CDG of my choosing. I will try to create a ZIP file of a commercially available karaoke file and I will post a yousendit link to the file right here in the Forum so anyone who wants to can see it. The file will have a picture before the Commercial LOGO. It will have a picture after the Commercial LOGO and it will have a picture at the end of the song. What do you say??? Are you willing to put your money where your mouth is???

Oooohhhh! A bet, I love it, but let's get the rules straight. The picture is going to be in the CDG format and have more than 16 colors? 'scuse me for sticking my nose in but if I remember correctly a CDG file reads a 24 byte packet rendering a 6X12 pixel block every 3.333... miliseconds to an actual graphics area of 300X216 pixels. And you want to bet Matt a Karaoke CD agaist what(?) that you can render a picture of more than 16 colors (any good picture has more that 16 colors) over the surface area of the display in... how long??? and stay within the the CDG format?
If you could be a little more specific maybe you could bet me too.

16 colors only in CDG format. The original question here asked about adding a logo or an e-mail to a CDG file and you don't need more than 16 colors to display an E-mail address or a company logo. I said I could do it and Matt says that I can't. This has nothing to do with farming weeds so there is no reason for me to make a bet with you. This is between the naysayer and myself. I'm sure that you could do it easily weedfarmer with all of your PC expertise.

tell ya what Brucefan, I'll take your bet as long as you also include the instructions on how to do it.
Let's be clear on this.
1.) this has been an option for the older software (I checked, and my version is the 1.14something)
2.) the cdg you want isn't going to be a rare one, okay? I'm pretty poor! !
3.) you give your instructions on how to do it. This can be as simple as copying and pasting the instructions from the help file.
Deal?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I can. The big problem in editing an existing CDG is matching the font. But if you didn't care about that and would be happy with a single color font for an e-mail address or something it would be fairly easy. I would be happy to explain the process but I want to see how this bet comes out first.

No instructions. Sorry, that wasn't part of the deal. You said I couldn't do it. You didn't say I couldn't explain how to do it. You insult my intelligence and then you want ME to teach YOU how to do something???
I guess I don't have to go to the trouble of making that file after all. Sorry to disappoint you Doug.

That's right Matty. You'll have to figure it out all by yourself. Maybe Tig will show you how to do it. He taught you everything else you know.

BruceFan4Life's unwillingness to provide the instructions with his completed, modified CDG file casts a big shadow of doubt on his ability to achieve the task as he stated he could...me thinks he may have....well never mind.

I have recieved the modified file with the added logo before the brand logo, after the brand logo and at the end of the song... BruceFan did exactly as he stated... it did not affect the sync'ing of the words to the audio file...

It seems to me, that if you were at all interested in actually helping the original poster, you would explain exactly how to do what you did ( it seems that after hijacking this thread with your pi**ing match it's the least you could do)
Is it posible you achieved this using another program
My real name is Mike by the way......Whats yours

It's amazing how I get accused of highjacking the thread when it was Knightshow who came in claiming that I didn't know what I was talking about. If he had not insulted my intelligence and butted out; I would have told the original poster how to do it if they were interested in buying the software to do so. Now I'm not about to give Matty Boy any information so somewhere down the line he will claim that he is the one who discovered how to do it. He owes me a CDG but I don't expect to ever see it. He's always been a phony.
I showed the proof to TIG for a very good reason. He knows Matt from way back and I knew that he'd be honest.
