Hello,
I had KB Studios running perfectly on my XP desktop for a long time. In the past, if I load an incompatible audio file, a message stating, "a PCM Wave file is require."
Now when ANY audio file is loaded, there is No Message and the Play Button remains Greyed Out!

Device Manager doesn't show any conflicts and my other players and editors work fine. System Restore didn't help.
I really screwed somethin up!

Any Help would be greatly appreciated!

Kind Regards,
sw00000p

I've had that happen. You had something overwrite a driver or setting!

What I would attempt to do first is reinstall your sound drivers by first attempting to fix them in the device manager, even though it says it's all okay. If that doesn't work, then I'd reinstall your audio players, such as Windows Media, winamp, and then reinstall your karaoke stuff, such as karaoke builder studio.

THANKS Knightshow,

I'm positive your right!
I got all screwed up networking my XP to my XPS Quad Core with STINKIN VISTA.
Time to separate Em and put my XP back to normal.

THANKS :D
Kind Regards,
sw00000p

Hey Knightshow,

Got 'Er Running Smoothly again. Thanks!

NEXT VISTA PROBLEM!
I'm unable to hear audio when I play a .cdg + .mp3 (Matched Perfectly) track with Karaoke Builder Studios Player. I can play a .bin file perfectly.
Windows Media Player plays just fine. (avi, mpg, dvd, mp3, wav, etc.)

I can't get the KBS Player to show up in the default file association screen.
So I can assign it to play .cdg and .mp3 file.

I know everyone Hates Vista, but the more I learn, the more I like it.
Just wondering if you ever encountered this problem.
You help is Greatly appreciated.

STINKIN VISTA
Kind Regards,
sw00000p

from my limited experience, the player that comes with karaoke builder studio that plays the .cdg and .bin won't recoginize the audio unless it's a .wav file.

However, their free stand alone kbplayer, downloaded from their site, works fine with .cdg.

EVERYTIME I've worked with karaoke builder studio, I've had to re-install that other free player to get it to work with other audio files other than .bin or .wav. I think it's cause the kbplayer has a compressed player built in, where the karaokebuilder studio player... doesn't!

Again, I could be wrong!

I don't necessarily hate Vista, but I do feel Microsoft "fixed" some things from XP that didn't need fixing. There are just a bunch of silly glitches that wouldn't exist if they hadn't felt it necessary to add features that no one needs or cares about. I've been on Vista for 1 1/2 years and it works great now, but it took me way too long to get it to that point. Microsoft really screwed the pooch with this version of Windows. But it seems they do this with every other version (anybody remember Windows ME...or as I like to call it: the DEVIL), so maybe the next version will be as stable and awesome as XP.

knightshow,

Wave... Duh! I'm forgetting All Of The Little Things.
THANKS! You're a breath of fresh air! :D

DJ Swirl,

I agree, if it ain't broke why Change it? It was a Headache learning where my files are.
My biggest Beef is Program Compatibility. I've spent a lot of money on various (Editors / Authoring Software) that didn't work At First with Vista.

Since vista's service pack 1, the only ones not compatible are:
Ulead Meadia Studio Pro 8 and my old version of Abobe After Effects.
Thank God, XP is still around.

Kind Regards,
sw00000p
