Have you guys been watching?

I watched Bolt break the record yesterday. Unbelievable speed !

I find him a bit imature, but entertaining.

I like the gymnastics and sand volleyball the best. The US rocks!

I get very emotional every 4 years and actually weep. These and music knows no borders and 90% of the people in this world could live in peace if the rest would forget their dogmas and greed.

I am glad China managed to suppress terrorism acts except for that one incident. Children can compete in all nations and get along and most adults can not. There are so many inspirational stories during this time that for 4 years it is nothing but propaganda.

I think it's cool that Slovenia is at the top of the "per-capita" medal table. Only 2 Million people and they have 5 medals! Hey, and NZ is second with 9 medals/4 Million!

We are in the same time zone as China, so I don't have to wake up at odd hrs to watch. We have 10 live feeds via satellite TV to watch.

The opening ceremony was fantastic

Iwatch mostly the acton at the pool.

Sources that I know of, said that there were 3 takes of the firework; 2 were done earlier on and they were then supperimposed with the live feed. The company that was behind alot of those work is US based.
But still the show was impressive.

I do believe that he means the Chineese gymnastics gals that claim to be 16 but are a lot younger. C'mon just look at them no way are the age they claim.

[font=Verdana] I heard on the news last night that three of the Chinese girls in gymnastics are being investigated, It will be interesting to see what comes of that. If they are disqualified or not. Looking at the girl in her coaches arms in the picture, I must say she sure doesn't lool like she is 16 years old, somewhere between 8 and 12 would be my guess, notice the missing tooth.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,403584,00.html

It does seem to me that the judging is a little biased towards the home team. I was watching the beam event. One of the Chinese girls fell off the beam and still scored higher than one from the US who only had a couple of small balance checks.

Congratulations to Nastia Liukin, Shawn Johnson, Michael Phelps and all of our Olympic athletes. They have done a great job of representing our country. I wish more of our young people were this motivated.

I was glued to watching the sand volleyball. The girls and the guys team. The US rocks!

The scoring for gymnastics was obviously done poorly. It was mentioned several times by the announcers.

The mens court volleyball was very exciting. When they beat the Russians I was hootin and hollerin.

Actually I hadn't seen any of the Olympics untill I went to sing karaoke this week....but yes, I love watching them! I saw some of the gymnastics, diving, track, beach volleyball, and regular volleyball. I wouldn't even mind seeing more coverage of the more obscure sports, like fencing, badminton, and table tennis. These athletes are incredible.

I heard about this - I can't believe they had a girl lip synch because they thought the singer was to ugly - PLEASE

That's an ego killer - I say let the not so attractive singer be seen !

I watched the closing ceremony last night. Very cool, but long. Usually they show the olympians dancing and partying on the field. I'd didn't see any of that this year. Bummer!

I was so happy for the men's indoor volleyball team, their coach's father in-law was the one that was killed during the games in China and it was a nice tribute to the coach and team for them to win the gold.

I actually played against and with Riley Salmon about 8 or 9 years ago ( he's from League City, Texas ) in pick up games in a Houston gym that was built strictly for volleyball by some Iranians that were friends of mine. Riley was scary good back then also. Pretty decent fellow too. Rudy.

I was wondering what they were referring to when they talked about the coaches tradgedy at home. What was the story on that. I never heard anything about a man passing away from the USA in China.

He was stabbed by a crazy Chinese guy, while sight-seeing......it was totally random, and they believe the "nut" didn't know he was a US citisen....it happened well before the Opening Cerimonies(spell...lol) had begun.....the nut then jumped to his death......I guess that gives him some redeeming qualities...... :)
